OK...so I got my Archos back up & running...all my music files loaded in and GMMP installed & working. However, the file/folder delete issue is still happening. Here's what I'm doing: I had the player playing my entire collection on shuffle like I always do. I came across an MP3 I no longer wanted so I went to delete it from the "Now Playing" screen (I have it set up to delete on long press). Upon deletion, it switched to the next song like it always has but the "Deleting" window remained open on the screen & pressing the pause, play etc buttons no longer worked. The home button took me to the android home screen and the music continued to play. Tapping the GMMP icon brought me back into the app with the same results...no music control and "Deleting" still on display. So now, to avoid what happened last time, I DON'T hold the power button but instead I hit the Home button and go into settings and force close the GMMP app. This works fine and when I restart GMMP, it works like normal.....until I need to delete again. Can anyone reproduce this issue on their unit? does it happen every time you delete the playing file?

and you are using the delete current file/folder feature from now playing? (instead of deleting from the file browser)
This last week I wasnt able to do any work due to getting a new dev machine.. but thats finally set up so im back fixing bugs!

Yes. From the now playing screen, I have it set up to where I can delete using a long press action. Once I long press, the window pops up that requests if I want to delete the current file or folder. Whether I select "Delete File" or "Delete Folder" the results are the same.

I had to hurry this update due to the playback issues so i will to address the others posted in the forums in the next update
1.3.8 (08/15/12): -Fixed scrobbling issue with shuffle all enabled -Prefetch errors will cause the track to skip immediately instead of after the 5 second timeout -Fixed playback speed of mono files on galaxy s2, note, and possibly other devices updated to ICS -Album search now will show albums that match the album name, artist name, or album artist name -Album search will now only show an album once for various artist albums -Fixed issue where positions in file browser would be lost when changing views -Selecting 'Play Next' will now cancel 'Shuffle Collection' if enabled -Fixed crash when updating notification controls -Caught out of memory exception when trying to load background art -ICS lockscreen will no longer disappear after pausing playback -Changing tracks when paused/stopped will no longer automatically start playback -Added chinese translation -Updated russian, czech, spanish and german translations -Fixed gapless playback for 4.0+ -Fixed issue where there would be a gap between the first and second song when playing a folder -Fixed crash during file deletion

If so, sadly it does not appear to have worked.

not intentionally.. it was an exception that was reported so I handled it. I wasnt sure if it was related to your issue or not (but was hoping it was the issue haha). I still havent booted up my 5it to try to reproduce it yet, but it is something i should be able to track down in the next patch.

Hi gonemad. "With one of the last updates, the EQ gone resp. is not working anymore. The field in settings is greyed out and I cannot find the menu entry anymore (the entry for selecting the EQ on normal skin), but I'm using Android 1.6 on my 5IT. Can you look at this, please? It's not working with or without my blue tooth device" /edit I found the gap. After de-select and re-select the EQ in "UI-settings", the entry is still availalable. It was a little bit confusing, because the entry was set.

Downloaded the update and skins. Have an issue but not sure if it's related to GMMP. Archos 5 I had the player playing my entire collection on shuffle like I always do. So, I held the power button for 10 seconds to force a reboot and now I cant get past the "android" splash screen. I'm in recovery now...tried "Repair Disk" and "Check Disk" with no results....tried re-installing the firmware to see if that helps but still stuck on the "android" splash screen. I can access the hard drive on my computer while using the "Repair Disk" or "Update Firmware" options in recovery so I'm thinking maybe I corrupted the OS somehow? Any thoughts? hey i apologize for taking so long to look at this, I am unable to reproduce the issue on my 5it. The "deleting" dialog shows for roughly 15-20 seconds or so (for 1 song heh) and then eventually goes away. I had actually thought i reproduced the issue since it was taking way longer to delete than most devices.. so i put the device down.. but when i looked back the deleting dialog was gone. Questions: Have you looked to see if the file was still there after you hard rebooted the device (using the archos file manager)? Are you able to delete files that are not playing using the file browser in gmmp. If not, can you delete files using the archos file manager?

So I tried it again yesterday (before I read your response today) and did exactly the same thing...put the device down and forgot about it. The next time I looked, the dialogue was gone as well. It's just taking way longer than it used to I guess but I can live with that.

how large is your collection?
I think the reason it takes awhile is it cleans up the database.. the 5IT doesnt have much ram and the clean process will have to scan the whole database removing any missing links.
I could probably put in an option to not do that on delete.. you would be left with entries in the album/artist/song/genre that point to files that are no longer there tho
I think it was around this update where you started noticing it: 1.3.6 (07/22/12): New: -Added delete to artist, album, song, and genre views -Deleted songs, albums, artists, etc are now removed from the database after deleting
