Nice, really looking forward at 1.4. 1.4 is awhile off. All these fixes are still in the 1.3.x line. Some of the major things still needed to be fixed: -Jelly bean broke AAC playback -The album art search service is being deprecated on august 1st so that has to be replaced -FLAC files with more than 2 channels doesnt play correctly -The resuming playback after an incoming call issue and then there are some other minor bugs

I got it, just hope for bug resolution and don't care about versions. I can say that music resume after call is quite trivial, I mean I can't even reproduce that when I want to so don't lose to much time on that. I have to admit last release keeps on working very well, album art gets displayed correctly (I fear the deprecation of the service you mentioned, by the way)... Only things I'd really like to see fixed are the first song playing twice on random start, the first song playing first in a random list and maybe a bigger caching for flac/big files (I see it skips from time to time using bt play while it's much more precise with usual size mp3s)... I know you've covered a few kinks already, just add sort views option and I'm sold!

I know you've covered a few kinks already, just add sort views option and I'm sold! microsoft is deprecating their image search api which is what GMMP was using, google did the same thing which is why bing was being used. I do think google still works currently so the worst case is to switch to that (its already coded) until a better solution is written. I plan on switching to amazon since that seems to be the only reliable service left. The results will most likely be more accurate since its product oriented instead of just a general image search. The bug where the first song plays twice in a row should be fixed with the changes I made to randomly pick a position when playing a folder. What was happened before to cause the bug was when playing a folder, the first track plays immediately and then the rest of the folder is scanned and enqueued to the end of the playlist. When the playlist is modified, the "no repeats" list gets reset so if you loaded a folder with 10 songs, there was a 1 in 10 chance the first song would play again The changes I made now will cause gmmp to load the whole folder first and then randomly pick a song in the playlist to start. Since the playlist is already "complete", that song gets added to the "no repeat" list, so it should not play again until every other song was played once.

Downloaded the update and skins. Have an issue but not sure if it's related to GMMP. Archos 5 I had the player playing my entire collection on shuffle like I always do. I came across an MP3 I no longer wanted so I went to delete it from the "Now Playing" screen (I have it set up to delete on long press). Upon deletion, it switched to the next song like it always has but the "Deleting" window remained open on the screen & pressing the pause, play etc buttons no longer worked. The home button took me to the android home screen and the music continued to play. Tapping the GMMP icon brought me back into the app with the same results...no music control and "Deleting" still on display. So, I held the power button for 10 seconds to force a reboot and now I cant get past the "android" splash screen. I'm in recovery now...tried "Repair Disk" and "Check Disk" with no results....tried re-installing the firmware to see if that helps but still stuck on the "android" splash screen. I can access the hard drive on my computer while using the "Repair Disk" or "Update Firmware" options in recovery so I'm thinking maybe I corrupted the OS somehow? Any thoughts?

The delete may have triggered some errors on the disk to be seen by the OS. GMMP doesnt do anything special when deleting.. it uses the File.delete() function: developer.android.com/reference/java/io/File.html#delete%28%29 . So there is nothing gmmp does specifically that would corrupt a hard disk

Yeah...I figured as much. This might explain the little hiccups it was having recently. Damn...this was my old faithful too.

i would definitely try to wipe it / factory reset / flash the OS again before you consider it dead

Was hoping to avoid that if possible but that looks to be my next move.

OK...so I got my Archos back up & running...all my music files loaded in and GMMP installed & working. However, the file/folder delete issue is still happening. Here's what I'm doing: I had the player playing my entire collection on shuffle like I always do. So now, to avoid what happened last time, I DON'T hold the power button but instead I hit the Home button and go into settings and force close the GMMP app. This works fine and when I restart GMMP, it works like normal.....until I need to delete again. Can anyone reproduce this issue on their unit?
