your tags are not correct or do not conform to the id3 spec. Use a tool like mp3tag to properly tag your music www.mp3tag.de/en/

" When adding something to a channel, the excessive "mousing" from top left to lower right is annoying. Having that Add button on the top near the search field would sure help my carpel tunnel. Yes I can shrink the window but that makes it harder to view what is already there (hence the need to be able to Find)." I'm adding a bulk search option where the search bar extends down with multiple lines.. so you can copy paste in a bunch of shows and it will show all of the matches underneath imgur.com/a/S2ZTGRLShould make adding multiple shows a lot easier

Based on what you posted i am guessing you are using tab navigation? Use the other navigation mode and the queue should always reposition itself so the playing track is at the top. Also every track change should reposition it unless you are actively scrolling
In the library and artists view, if scrolling up and down at albums, if you click an album to go to the songs and then go back, the app doesn't member where you were in the list of albums and defaults to the top of the queue. It would be nice when going back from songs to album, the album selected was the main one in view instead of having to scroll to it again.
not true.. if its doing that.. its a bug i cannot reproduce (and likely related to tab navigation). Scroll position is saved on all lists / grids
edit: also a note to everyone.. you are free to make suggestions but I have such a massive backlog of planned work and previous requests that you should not expect any traction on a request for years likely

anything on the request list is something that potentially will get done. A request that i agree with and do not object to doing typically. If its not listed on trello under a specific release its not yet on the roadmap "3. hmm... do you have to specify that you intend to use a relative path when adding a folder to a playist, or is it the default behavior for "add (a folder) to playlist" as is? that's the one I've been using to create playlists, and from the sounds of it I didn't have to manally update playlists all this time " Anything made inside the app uses the full path.. but you talked about syncing content to your storage externally so i assumed you used something else to get music on that drive and could use that external tool to maintain the playlist files on the drive. Pretty user software like musicbee let you write playlists that are relative paths instead of full path "are there any tasker intents for populating playlists? worst come to worse" no intents for creating playlists but you can use an intent to play/playnext/shuffle/etc a file / folder / or playlist.. so you should be able to just "shuffle" the top level folder containing your music

"1. RG scanner: RG playback works great, and I use the per-track version all the time. The only gripe is, GMMP doesn't come with a built-in scanner. How difficult would it be to add one?" outside of the scope of the player. Will not happen "2. Album art: is it possible to add a per-track manual keyword search interface for internet downloaded album arts? Not all tracks have accurate metadata, and some end up with random arts from unknown artists when using the current auto download feature." I thought i already had a request on trello but couldnt find it. Added: trello.com/c/K8qk7ULe3) if your playlists are on the USB Drive and it contains relative paths to your other music on the drive.. there should be no maintenance at all except for running a scan when the drive is connected. Only playlist file locations are indexed in the database and not there contents.. so you can change the contents externally without gmmp having to do anything "suggestion 1) add "sync (update) playlist with contents of the selected folder" feature" Folder browser had an "add to playlist" option for folders "suggestion 2) add "remove duplicates from the playlist" feature" Already exists. Its in the 3 dot menu when viewing a playlist "Remove duplicates" "4. OTG drive "quick play" feature: it would be nice if you GMMP could recognize a freshly inserted OTG drive (or have a manual button) and prompt for an option to make a shuffled playlist with all playable media on that drive." No plans on adding that. Sounds very niche. You could likely automate something with tasker

no plans on doing that. i have limited development time and a massive request list. i am not really considering niche requests.. only those that benefit the entire userbase

so the android OS only allows the scanner to run at 10 minutes at a time before it kills it and restarts it. which is why you may see it not progress at all if it is running and the numbers arent incrementing.. its looking for files that have changed since the last scan. I recommend plugging your phone in when running the initial scan as that allows things to run the fast and there is a lower chance of processes being killed
after enabling the mp4 setting you would have to run another scan
"- When I select the "Library" option, and select "Songs", the screen shows a list of songs. However, when I start to scroll , the screen show "..." in the three locations where title, artist, and track length are to appear. After about ten seconds, the proper information is populated. What can I do to prevent this?"
Get a faster device and/or faster storage. If a scan is still running in the background most operations are going to run a lot slower until the scanner is done. With a library of 50k you shouldnt even be using the song list. I'd remove it from the library and just use search if you are trying to find a specific song

save location of new playlists cannot be changed, but playlists can be moved to anywhere the scanner can see and still be used

i'd have to check the code and test myself.. but i dont recall any changes in GMMP between those time periods that touched anything related to downloading images / saving images to disk. It does do some checks on the potential filename to remove any illegal character.. but illegal characters on android are pretty limited (and are also ascii characters)

my guess is whatever you are blocking for the OS updates is also blocking the in app purchase api to verify purchases. copying over configs is not going to do anything.. the purchase gets verified every time the app is launched (i'd assume amazon caches the results so its not hitting up their backend services every single time)

a button would do the exact same thing that's done on startup automatically.. but yea if the OS is out of date.. the licensing stuff may no longer be compatible? QuasiTV just uses whatever is returned by amazon's api.
Does the device have internet access? I could see that causing issues if not

force close the app and relaunch it. It restores purchases automatically every time the app is launched. no clue why it didnt for you in that instance
