i did manage to find a way to allow any aspect ratio while keeping the current layouts. I will make it an option in the customize menu

No plans on changing this. download art thats 1:1 like pretty much all album covers are
Allowing the odd aspect ratios ended up poor UX for the majority of users. The change was intentional
Edit: unfortunately it's not something I can easily make configurable. Sorry

gonemadmusicplayer.blogspot.com/p/dealing-with-split-albums.html?m=1edit: sorry I didn't see you already posted the link The last part of it is relevant to your situation tho If the album files are in different folders or you adding extra files to an existing album: Make sure Advanced Scanner Settings - MultiFolder Albums is turned on Make sure not only the albumartist and album tags are identical, also make sure the year tag is identical. All 3 are used by the scanner to group albums in multiple folders. If all those settings are correct then your tags do no match. GMMP searches the database using albumartist, album, and year. If your music does not have album artists tags that is also likely part of the issue. If you want to determine the exact tags present in the files using GMMP you need to use the "song info" feature and not open the tag editor. The tag editor will fill in the albumartist with the artist if the tag is not present. The song info UI will show straight from the tags

doesnt matter where you are in the app.
Selecting an item and choosing shuffle on it will add it to the queue shuffled. Similarly if you have content in order in the queue and turn on shuffle from now playing, it will shuffle up all the content in the queue. The queue in GMMP is a bit diff from something like spotify.. GMMP only plays from the queue.. so whenever you select content it will get added to the queue
maybe i should note that just turning on shuffle in now playing does not shuffle your entire collection.. but whatever is in the queue. Library 3 dot menu has a "shuffle all" option that will shuffle the entire collection.

Thank you. If I am understanding you correctly I set the player to Normal (not shuffle), randomize the queue and then have the songs play in sequence in the queue. Another question. What does Auto-DJ do? No. Shuffle the playlist. It's contents are placed in the queue all shuffled up and the songs are played in the order they appear in the queue. The entirety of the queue will play in that order listed B4 repeating. You could keep randomizing the queue and it will keep shuffling the order but that shouldnt be needed The order of the songs when shuffling in the queue is pseudorandom (all that is possible with computers/ phones) but you should t be getting the same order every time Auto dj keeps adding content to the end of your queue and is more intelligent. See the link posted by motley

Have you added the playlist folder to the scanner list to be checked? /storage/playlist is not standard folder (doesnt even exist on my pixel 6a), you would have to add it to the scanner paths. /storage/Music and most sdcard's Music folder are the only ones added by default m3u m3u8 pls and wpl files will all show up if scanned even if the contents are empty or its contents cannot be found

Look at your queue. All 500 tracks are added to the queue in a randomized order. It's not possible to repeat until the queue is finished or you have multiple versions of the same song in your library
If you are using classic, that has not been supported in years and shuffle is random in that. There is no guarantee you will not get repeats nor all songs will play

i do have customizable controls on my list of things to do/requests. It'll eventually get added. FYI if you have a remote with channel up/down buttons like many of the fire stick remotes.. that will change channels

i do plan on adding a way to weight scheduling.. its just not there yet. i've had the same issues you've experienced and my short term solution was to only group shows with lesser episodes with other shows with lesser episodes. Ideally i'd like to add something to choose custom weightings or just weight by episode count.. so if you had 2 shows(A and B) with 100 episodes each and then 1 show (C) with 10 episodes each.. u'd have a 1/21 chance to see C and 10/21 chance to see A and 10/21 chance to see B
currently shows are scheduled currently however it is set via the web ui. between [min] and [max] episodes blocks.. and will just rotate between all the shows
my current priority is working on a backend server to allow multiple clients to stay syncd.. so any updates you'll see in the near future are bug fixes or minor changes to improve UX until the server stuff is done

Gmmp classic has not been supported for a few years now so there is no guarantee things will work on newer devices. Update to gmmp 3.4.x or newer
