the error report only really contains your settings. I can look into it but if i cannot reproduce something its very hard to fix. Are you running a custom rom or anything?

I'll get a log in case it happens again. I listened to 50 more songs yesterday and sporadically checked and until now the progress bar is working.
And the update of the notification seems completely random. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. It doesn't matter if I use the phone or it's locked. I really would like to help here but I can't :/. Maybe it's really Samsung with OneUI 4.1.

Still getting the issue where some m4a tracks are not gapless no matter what aac encoder is used. 3.3.x uses ffmpeg for AAC LC decoding now (assuming opensl is disabled). It's out of my hands (ffmpeg handles all the gapless audio processing instead of my code) I do recall testing the files you sent and thought they now played gapless and have tested other m4a file myself along with some other users testing their m4a albums

I know before when m4a using ISO standard for gapless encoding the files would play gapless but with this update for some reason they don't. Will try again with the Apple AAC encoder usig iTunSMPB for gapless encoding. LAME encoded mp3s played flawless.

i would assume apple's encoder is the most common and most likely to work correct. I imagine many gmmp users with aac files got them from itunes or whatever apple's music store is called now

3.3.5 (2022/05/17) -Simplified the mediasession metadata updater -Fixed 'artist - album year' track sorting order when albums have the same year -Custom metadata creator lines will now refresh correctly after editing
Will roll out over the next few days. I have no idea if it will fix the notification not updating issues

Well, the new metadata updater is not working.
I started a new "shuffle all tracks" session and skipped a few songs and it always shows the previous track in the notification, not the current one.

I rarely ever test with that off I can literally spam next track for 5 minutes straight and everything updates correctly on all my phones My changes were when the track changes.. a single update gets sent to the OS with all the changes, so i have no clue how its possible to not show the correct track unless its an issue on the OS side

Out of curiosity I installed Poweramp and did the exact same that I did in the video and here the notification is updating every time. Do you maybe know of any open source music player that I could check this in?

Do you maybe know of any open source music player that I could check this in? shuttle I've already looked at its code and what im doing is identical. The api is dead simple. From your video it looks like its updating with old info which i cannot reproduce.. which is why i asked for the bug report so i can see your settings. There are many different code paths depending on the settings used. I can configure one of my devices with your exact configuration and try to reproduce
