everything written to the gmmp folder is intentional Yeah but it writes to a wrong GMMP folder: It should write to /storage/emulated/0/gmmp/x And not to: /storage/emulated/0/storage/emulated/0/gmmp/x Also I think I can confirm that clearing cache fixed the random crashes for me too and also the problem with gmmp being stuck after an interruption from the timer app seems to be gone.

No Problem.
I encountered another crash today. Could be that it has sth. todo with Chromecast, as I was doing some casting changes in Netflix when GMMP crashed.
Edit: The gmmp stuck after audio ducking is still present too (also from other apps not only the timer app).
E.g. play music through gmmp, open an Instagram video (with audio). After closing the video or leaving Instagram gmmp should resume playback. However gmmp doesn't resume and if you open gmmp it is stuck for about 10 seconds before you can press play again.

i dont have facebook / instragram on my phones because i dont use them, but i tried with youtube and it takes audiofocus an never returns it. So its no longer ducking, but taking focus completely (and therefore gmmp cannot resume). This is entirely up to the stealin focus app and nothing i can control.
I was able to bring up gmmps UI and play immediately tho.. no "getting stuck"
one thing to check is make sure audiofocus volume is set to 10, if thats moved to anything other than 10 it has a different behavior (gmmp controls the ducking vs the OS), and has been found to be buggy (android never unducking)

Also this problem was introduced in 3.3, never encountered gmmp being stuck that way in earlier Versions. It's also really strange that this only happens when gmmp is in the background. E.g. I set a timer within the clock app which takes the Audiofocus: - When gmmp is in background it does not resume after dismissing the timer and is stuck - When gmmp is opened in foreground it resumes and isn't stuck after dismissing the timer Shall I take a log of one of these? (Like you want with an interruption of the timer or Instagram app and gmmp in fore/background) Edit: For the YouTube app you're right. This just takes audiofocus and stops gmmp without being stuck or sth.

Yeah any situation like that I could always use a logcat. Just explain what you witnessed in the email along with the logcat. I don't always get to look at them right away

i halted 3.3.0's rollout and submitted 3.3.1 for review. Android 12 was experiencing some crashes while idle in the background due to how 12+ handles foreground services (cannot be launched without some sort of user interaction)

just on play. only did the initial apk off google play was i wanted some people to test who would likely give feedback before exposing it to the 2000 or so people on the google play beta channel.
3.3.1 is strictly exception handling for the crash when trying to set the music service to be a foreground service

However I encountered another bug (can't say since which version this one appeared): Gmmp doesn't detect Musixmatch as installed when opening lyrics. Already tried a reinstall of musixmatch without luck. Best greets

will be fixed in 3.3.2. Googled added an extra step in order to query info on other apps (you now have to explicitly declare in the app's manifest which app packages to query)
