does toggling play/pause refresh the notification and show the correct playing info? Yes yikes... toggling play pause doesnt send anything other than the play state. (play / pause / track position)... so no new metadata.. meaning that the OS does have the updated metadata but is not display in it. This 100% sounds like a samsung bug.. i just dont understand how there are some apps that work fine. especially vlc. the code to update the media session is identical to what gmmp does

Having a problem with an mp3 which has a cue sheet to divide the tracks. In the music library screen it is showing twice, once as a single long mp3 file and another as an album with the tracks split. Only happening with one cue mp3 file not the others.

Hi. Did you manage to have a look at tje cue file i sent over? briefly. nothing stood out as being incorrect. During the scan when a cue file is read in.. it'll make sure the actual filename referenced in the .cue is removed from the database.. leaving the pseudo "cue tracks", which actually reference the .cue file instead. the scanner should have naturally cleared out the single long track on its own

Hi, not sure if this should be reported as a bug or beta feedback but upgrading to the beta from the latest "normal" release fixed an issue for me. As I've done lots of times before I bought some music from iTunes, transferred the album to my phone and went to work. The tracks are in apple's m4a/aac format; I haven't messed with them in any way. On gmmp, which I've used for nearly a year now without issue, the tracks would play a lot quieter than on any other app (tried VLC, Mix explorer player and Pulsar). I then thought some kind of dsp or replay gain was active but everything was turned off (using replay gain would make everything I ripped from CD play quieter than downloaded tracks for some reason). I have read that soundwise the app doesn't do anything special, literally just plays the music, so I couldn't understand why all of a sudden these songs were much quieter. I cleared the app cache but no success, also tried switching to opensl but that didn't work either. I upgraded to the beta 3.3.5 and now it's all okay again. Any explanation for this behaviour? I have lots of aac files on my phone and this happened over Bluetooth and through a USB dongle but only with those tracks. (running android 12 on a Samsung galaxy s20 fe and haven't changed anything phone/software related for a while)

I just testet 3.3.6 a few minutes ago and the update of the notification is still not working on Samsung devices. I'd say at about 10-15% of the time it updates to the current song and the rest of the time it updates to the previous song.

I've sadly switched back (after a dozen years!) to Poweramp (and occasionally VLC) for now. I'll keep installing/trying new GMMP builds in hope that this gets fixed, because I do prefer it.

whats messed up is the notification code is exactly the same was what VLC uses, i've looked through VLCs source code
i also can still not replicate it on any device. Even my wifes s20 i can skip 100 tracks in 10 seconds and it still shows up correctly
