I've still been using GoneMAD Classic/2.0, but this looks really promising, and if some issues I noticed are fixable, I'd love to switch over.
As it's beta, I came across several minor bugs with options, settings, and buttons that I assumed were in-progress, so I wasn't going to detail them unless requested.
Here are a couple more urgent/sneaky issues I came across:
- Renaming the enabled views causes weird and inconsistent behavior. If you enable the "Album Artists" view, but rename it to "Artists", it will often change to the Artist view, and the real Artist view no longer displays anything. However, when trying to fix it, both views at one point changed to the Album Artist view despite the Artist view not being named Album Artist.
- The mini player shortcut causes library navigation to break. If you enter a library view, click the mini player to open the Now Playing tab, press back to return to the library, then press back or the return button to back out of the library, you exit the program instead of returning to the tab view.
- In GoneMAD 2, pressing back would return to now playing from any tab, and there was an option to let the back button return you to the previous tab instead. Having the back button return to now playing would be very useful, as pressing back from any tab currently exits the program.
And lastly, I might be able to live with it, but I assume there's no way to keep the tabs on top while in a library view like in GoneMAD 2, but just thought I'd affirm that is still the case.

Thanks for the feedbakc

I think when it looks up the tab type it is using the name, so i can see what you are describing happening. I never thought to test that case. You might be able to get away with adding an extra space at the end of the tab name, or maybe use all caps in the name.
"- The mini player shortcut causes library navigation to break. so tab navigation reuses the core navigation done for the drawer, which will bring views to the top of the stack if they are already open.. in this case the tab view goes to the top when the mini player is selected, the using the back button pops it off the stack (destroys the view). I'd have to look into this one to see if there is an easy fix

There is not currently
"And lastly, I might be able to live with it, but I assume there's no way to keep the tabs on top while in a library view like in GoneMAD 2, but just thought I'd affirm that is still the case."
There is not. As mentioned before tab nav reuses the same core navigation as drawer. The only reason i added tab navigation was because I could reuse the majority of what i already wrote and just make some tweaks. Its not going to be identical to 2.x
I'm under time constraints to get this released before the end of october due to the scoped storage mandate google (starting nov 1 on all app updates) which requires a huge rewrite of all file access. That plus me expecting a newborn in a few weeks means that most likely some of this wont be able to be addressed for a few months

If I can ask, why did you put this in beta and what feedback are you looking for? Is there criteria for promoting the beta to a release state? Like, I noticed a few buttons, menu options, and settings that didn't work, but assumed they were due to beta status.
It sounds like you could really use some help but I assume it's very much a solo project.

Its beta because its in the beta channel on google play. Its careless to push updates with big changes to the whole userbase without testing it out on a smaller group and that's what the beta is for.
"Is there criteria for promoting the beta to a release state?"
When all bugs i deep critical or higher priority are fixed. I've been trying to get it into release for a week or so, but issues keep getting reported that need to get fixed
"It sounds like you could really use some help but I assume it's very much a solo project."
Yes its a solo project. Been actively working on for 10+ years now

sorry didnt respond to this: "Like, I noticed a few buttons, menu options, and settings that didn't work, but assumed they were due to beta status."
you should certainly point that out. I dont release anything beta or not with buttons / menus / features intentionally broken

Just back out of the UI and relaunch. The bug only seems to happen when, in one try using "Enabled Views", remove a tab, then rename another tab to the same name as that tab. When returning it'll show what you named it to. In my case i removed artists and then renamed artists to genres and it showed the list of genres. However if you back out of the UI and open it up again everything will be correct.
Pretty sure i was able to fix it.. at least in my case. Will be in 3.2.5

Like, I noticed a few buttons, menu options, and settings that didn't work, but assumed they were due to beta status. @gomemad I didn’t find any other buttons or settings that weren’t working other than the customize>gestures one that you already fixed after 3.2.4. If there are others hopefully @toucan can share soon so it can make your 3.2.5 fix and get to full release before end of the month.

Alright, I really didn't anticipate doing this, but I'm compiling a list of bugs and issues I've found since installing it yesterday. I really hope it helps, but it either connects or it doesn't, and that's fine. I'll put it up in a bit.

Dude im a single developer who does this for a hobby. I dont make a living on android development and also have plenty of other projects work on. You paid a few dollars for the app as is. There is no reason to be a dick about it. Im trying to get info on issues so they can be fixed and just because you paid doesnt mean i have to add any feature request asked for. There years worth of requests i still havent gotten to (all listed on trello).
Um thats exactly what is done, not sure why you think i would be doing anything other than that. The "google requirement" is scoped storage which is an absolute disaster and has changed pretty much every release up until android 11 and will mostly likely degrade the user experience significantly so myself and many other developers are waiting until its absolutely required before updating it. The tab-based navigation WAS ready from my point of view and the thousand or so other users on the beta track until you pointed out some issues which i've already fixed one and am looking into the other
-turn on "tempo" in the effects page and it will work
-noted.
I'd prefer you post any other issues you find on here instead of a PM, so others can see they were reported. I certainly could have held off on 3.2, but adding it has no effect on anything thats in 3.1 and is a complete bonus. Once november hits i will be busy with my personal life stuff that i mentioned in my previous response and it wont be months until i'll be able to get any new updates out. I would hope the userbase base would prefer to not wait any longer than necessary for the tab navigation. If you have followed this apps development at all you would know that I dont typically rush things (3.0 was in public alpha and beta for 2-3 years before final release)

I was able to change it around a bit so the starting view is always returned to before exiting.. so in this case if you go tab view -> artist details-> mini player press back to tab view, and then press back it will go back to artist details and then back to tab view before finally exiting
