as for what is left before release:
-skin updates -the seekbar doesnt move past 0 for some ape/mpc files -some of the less common file formats dont like having the tags edited while the song is playing -an m4a track plays back twice the speed (this was an old issue that was fixed but due to some engine changes its back) -there is an opus gapless bug very similar to the one posted on teh forums about ogg.. this is an ffmpeg issue so it might not get resolved for awhile (or i redo the opus integration to not use ffmpeg) -when seeking the seekbar will jump back to its original spot for a split second before going to the new position.. this is more of an annoyance so it may be left alone for the time being -there are some issues with the music service not properly shutting down on some devices -there is a really bad opensl bug in 4.2 that crashes the second you try to play some files (if this happens to you just disable opensl in the settings and it should play fine) -update translations
so 1.4 is getting pretty close. There of course will be tons more that gets added in future updates. I've been working on 1.4 for probably 3 months now so this really needs to get pushed out

I can't get the smart playlists to "play on select" even with the playlist "play on select" option checked. The only way I can get them to play is long press, then select play.

that setting just applies to the playlists tab
i'll add it to apply to the smart playlists as well

192/24 and 96/24 flac files... I've noticed that my 192/24 and 96/24 flac files aren't playing. Honestly I though they used to, but I don't have very many of them (about 4 albums each) so I'm not sure if this stopped (or ever worked) when my AT&T Galaxy SIII upgraded to JB 4.1.1 or with a GoneMAD update at some point. Anyway with 1.4RC1 they don't play on my AT&T Galaxy SIII w/ JB 4.1.1.
If we can get 96/24 and 192/24 flac playback working that would be great!!!! Right now it just skips through the files.
Thanks.

any sample rate higher than 48khz is not supported currently. I wanted to get it into the last update but it was going to take much longer than i expected so i pushed it back
android only supports 48khz or lower so the output needs to be resampled down to something playable

Interesting issue. I updated 1.3.22 to 1.4RC1 and I can play and stop music fine. But today is the 2nd time I noticed a "tists" sound coming from the speaker for no reason. GoneMAD was not playing or open. I muted the phone and the "tists" sound was still there. I turned on my Bluetooth headset, made a call, and the same "tists" sounds was coming through the call (only I could hear it). I rebooted the phone and all was well. If it happens again, I'll uninstall GoneMAD before rebooting to see if that fixes it. Just seems totally odd that the sound could be heard even after muting the phone. Any ideas?
May not be related, but started at the same time. So just asking...

most likely its not related. if gmmp is not playing and not open it shouldnt really be doing anything. Also any audio outputted by gmmp would be on the music stream which would be muted when you muted the phone

Agreed. Not related. I removed a couple other apps that were installed about the same time and it hasn't reoccurred. So I don't think it was GoneMAD.

k cool
overall things are going good.. i've gotten through testing on 11-12 devices and have about 14 more sitting next to me. I still have to do an x86 build and do an updated promo video for google play but I'm shooting for sunday as the release date for 1.4
edit: hopefully some more of the translations get finished by then. Only Italian and Spanish are 100% complete

Just updated to 1.4.
Not sure if this is new/different, but I thought tracks were referred to as "Tracks" in the old version, now referred to as "Songs". Is this a change? If so, not one for the better - songs are always tracks, but tracks aren't songs if they're instrumental or spoken...
BTW, is there any way to not show "All Songs" at the top of the album listing under Artists? The way I have GMMP set up, this is the only place I'm likely to see "Songs" in the UI.
