Hello from France ! I'm an user of Poweramp, but it's lack of intelligent playlists (albeit asked for years by users) made me try Gonemad, and I must say I'm very positivly surprised an I think Poweramp will have to go !
I'm tinkering with your software since a week to understand how it works and all the things I can set to my taste. I saw there is a database in the phone's memory in data/data/gonemad.gmmp/databases/gmml.db where the ratings of tracks (and other infos) are stored.
But I have a question about the behaviour of the database :
I know the 64 Gb microSD card (where my music files are stored) in my phone (a rooted Samsung S4 with Android 4.3) has a problem, so from time to time the phone dismounts and mounts the card againg. This was not a bigger issue for me, but when this happens while GoneMad is running the ratings stored in the database file get lost, wich is not very convenient to say the least when you took 3 hours to rate your tracks !
Meanwhile I did do a backup of the whole data/data/gonemad.gmmp/databases folder wich I can restore when my problem occurs (had allready to do it once)
The question is : is there a way that the rating don't get lost when the microSD card dismounts and mounts while GonMad runs (and yes, I orderd a new microDS card)
Thanks for your answer
Roland

i believe there is an option in the scanner to disable cleaning on scans. If your card unmounts and a scan happens its going to remove missing files.. so disable the cleaning and it should prevent the entries from being removed from the database. There is also a stat backup option that you can backup and restore stats
