Ever since my Razr was upgraded to ICS last summer, I haven't been able to get my music properly :)listed by "Album Artist". I tried many different tag tweaks but the stock Google Music player nor any of several other players I tried worked either. I was about to give up and wait for Jelly Bean when I saw this app mentioned in one of my many searches for a solution. Without any more mucking about my music was instantly sorted properly with this app. I really want compilations with "Various Artists" in the "Album Artist" field to be listed under "Various Artists". I also had one track (out of over 6000) that always had "unknown artist" even though all the tags appeared to be correct. What ever you're doing with the tags, you're doing it right. Thanks for a great app, I am quite happy. It certainly is worth more to me than what I had to pay for it.

Hi, just to concur with all of the above, this runs my 500gb collection fine! Plays all formats I've attempted, and doesn't skip! Brilliant. Will purchase. Thanks.

Great player for me too. I had lots of trouble with gapless music before I found Gonemad. Even with Neutron I could hear some "tick" between track. Now I'm happy

Just wanted to say thank you for this awesome, awesome music player! I've been searching for my "perfect" player for a long time and tested all the major ones extensively (PowerAmp, Player Pro, n7player, Winamp, Neutron, Rocket...) and in my opinion GoneMAD is by far the best in terms of functionality and sound.
I don't quite get what all the hype about the sound quality of PowerAmp is all about. I'm a sucker for clear, neutral and detailed sound. I like my music to sound as much like the original as possible. My main portable device these days is a (rooted) Galaxy Note 2 with ScoobyDoo sound mod which has a very clean and detailed sound as it is. It's an awesome device for music and I really like how it sounds out of the box, which is why I always leave the EQ disabled. However, with PowerAmp the sound is sort of dull and muddy - boring you could say. The stock Samsung music app gives great sound but the functionality is rather limited. Neutron sounds good but the interface is horrible. All the other music players where either not convincing sound-wise or were lacking features that are essential to me (proper folder navigation, shuffled playlists instead of just random playback "play next" feature...) Power Amp is really good on the features but doesn't sound good enough. No matter what I did, I could never get it to sound as detailed and "alive" as GoneMAD. GoneMAD is the only player I found that has all the features, great sound and is easy to use. Plus it is very actively developed by a guy who listens to his users, which is always a big plus.
I'm pretty amazed that GoneMAD isn't more popular. Maybe it's the name or maybe it just needs a bit more polish, who knows. It can definitely compete with PowerAmp on features and usability and excels in sound quality, in my opinion. At least if you are into high fidelity sound. For me it is really the best player in the market right now.

Thanks.
Yea GMMP hasnt gotten as popular as I would have hoped. All the major blogs typically ignore the app (i've sent in requests for reviews many times) so I have to rely on reddit and the word of mouth to advertise the app.
Many of the other players had 1-2 year head start on me so by the time I released GMMP, the market was already flooded with music player apps which didnt help either.
Anyway I"ll just continue improving gmmp and hope it eventually catches on

I just installed GoneMAD yesterday, just for the fun of it. And guess what. I'm considering uninstalling PowerAmp now. I actually like this app much more than I thought I would! Also it's good to see that the dev for this app is active (compared to PowerAmp which haven't had any special updates since last summer, except for bug fixes and very small things) Keep up the great work!

Here the same. Thank you for the development and the (future) updates. I love your player and it's the No 1 on my Archos 5" and Archos G9 80 250 GB.

I just installed goneMAD a few days ago and I already love it, especially for the smart playlists. Wanted to use rockbox as on all of my old dedicated players, but rockbox stutters every 3 minutes or so on my archos tablet, so I gave goneMAD a try and it's now the player on all of my android-devices. I still miss some features of rockbox (there seem to be more possibilies to insert songs a certain way in an already running playlist), but maybe I simply need more experience with the UI of goneMAD.
