Hello -
I get a 'Failed to delete' and then the song name whenever I try to delete a song or folder. I am using this software on a Samsung Galaxy S5. This is occurring for every song I try.....older ones that have been there a long time and new ones I just added. I was able to delete songs in the older version. So wondering if something got reset somewhere. Any ideas? Thank you!

Well after doing more research I may have the answer. Newer android phones don't allow 3rd party software to remove files from an external sdcard. So that is what is preventing me from doing this I am assuming. I don't really want to root my phone and void the warranty....plus I'm not sure I'm confident enough to even do it. Looks like I can use the Files app on my phone to remove the songs if I want.
Let me know if there's a way around this that I'm not aware of. Thank you!

I also noticed that my tag edits don't stick on external SD. Wouldn't this be possible in Lollipop if the ACTION_OPEN_DOCUMENT_TREE intent was added?

I have not had the time to even look at any of the lollipop APIs yet. 2.0 development was like 4-5 months along before lollipop was released. GMMP is currently in maintenance mode until all of the issues are fixed

Good job on the 2.0 release, some great features here that I haven't seen anywhere else. I saw that Lollipop feature being used in a couple apps, it seems like the app just sends the intent which causes the external file browser to open, where the user shows the system which directory the app is allowed to write to. Maybe after that's done existing code 'just works'.

I have been told before that it's kitkat and lollypop that won't allow deletes and edits on the SD CARD but if that is so why is Poweramp so special? When installed it asked for permission to edit my SD card music folder. I said yes and can now delete and edit all songs. I like GoneMad but I shouldn't have to need Poweramp to edit tags or delete songs. Samsung Galaxy S4 running Lollypop.

I have not implemented any of the newer lollipop apis yet that allow you to write to user selected areas of the sdcard
