I've been using GoneMad and least to say I'm very impressed. I'm encountering an issue where the player pauses itself during playback randomly when I have many notifications flooding in, eg. Whatsapp group chats. I would have to then reach for the player to press Play again. Turning off 'Obey AudioFocus Requests' does not help either, and my Walkman app does not exhibit such an issue. Xperia Z3 4.4.4 KitKat, on 1.9.13 beta. Logcat attached below - I'm not entirely sure on how to capture logcats but I certainly hope this will help. pastebin.com/JhBw9d1j

sounds like its not randomly pausing itself but something else is pausing it. Audiofocus requests and media intents are the only 2 things that can pause playback (audiofocus are usually temporary).. so something else is sending a pause media intent

Thanks. I probably have an app going on rogue so I will look that up. Meanwhile, would it make sense to have an option to ignore that media intent, as like there is an option to not obey AudioFocus requests?
Looking forward to your completed app once it's out.

Looking forward to your completed app once it's out. prefs -> general -> headset preferences -> enable headset/remote controls can be turned off and it'll ignore any media intents. Now keep in mind this will prevent the stock lockscreen controls from working as thats is what they use to control playback, but there is always the GMMP lockscreen that would work regardless
