Hello there, I am using your app for over a year now and it is easily the best Player among the others. I would like to ask how the tags exactly work, because I have tagged ca. 4000 files manually with gmmp. All I know that it creates a seperate database, which can be exported/backupped (XML-file) and the tags are NOT written directly into the mp3s, right? Now I have the followeing questions: Is it safe for me to move around my mp3 files (I'm sorting the folder structure atm)? Or would this destroy my tags? And another important question: Would the tags of my files be destroyed, if I bought a new Phone and simply put the sd-card (on which all my music is) into the new Phone? I assume to "transport" the database from one phone to another it would require some backup file. Where do I put that XML file which I can creat via GMMP and would this work for me? I know this are a lot of questions, but I hope you will find some time to answer them! (And sorry for my bad english, not my native language) Thanks in advance, Tublat

Ratings, however, are not saved to the file and are stored in the GMMP database. Things like now playing and the widgets read straight from the tags.. so its safe to assume that if now playing is showing the information, it is stored into the tag as well. In this case moving around the file will not mess with the tags at all What device do you have?

I think my next Phone will be a Sony Xperia Z2. If I would update and root that device, can I assume that the tags get written on the files of the sd card? Thanks again in advance, Tublat

Thanks again in advance, Tublat your current phone definitely writes to the tags. For the Z2 if it is running kitkat or higher... you will want to root and apply the sdcard fix. Basically if you google how to enable writing to the sdcard there should be a lot of tutorials on it since many users desire this functionality. For Lollipop i will hopefully be able to add in the ability to write to the sdcard using the new API they are providing but i havent gotten around to doing that yet.. basically the app will prompt the user for a location that it can write to
