I bought and installed the Unlocked version of GMMP on my Samsung Android phone quite a while ago. A few days ago, I noticed that the navigation bar changed. It no longer displays icons; just words (Now Playing, Genre, Artist, etc). I guess the skin got changed. But when I go to Preferences/UI/Skin Selector, only one skin shows up. I also notice that the app icon changed from the blue triangle to a green Android robot. It's possible that other features or functionalities changed as well, but I haven't noticed them yet.
Was there some sort of update that might have messed me up? I should note that I had to encrypt my phone last week due to new policies at work. Could that have affected GMMP?
My phone is a Samsung Exhilarate (SGH-I577), using Android 4.0.4
Should I download the app again or download any updates? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

JEP Yes if you read through the what's new section or the changelog this was explained. The silver and cyan skin were removed from the GMMP trial and released as separate downloads. play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=GoneMAD+Software+LLCwww.amazon.com/s/ref=bl_sr_mobile-apps?_encoding=UTF8&field-brandtextbin=GoneMAD%20Software%20LLC&node=2350149011Also the icons have been removed due to many reasons: 1) It was becoming too difficult to maintain 2 different code paths for the different types of skins 2) The icons were ugly and low res 3) The icons had the text baked into them so they could not be translated If you would like to revert to the old versions, 1.4.17.1 and the 1.4.x skins can be downloaded here: gonemadmusicplayer.blogspot.com/ on the right

Thanks for the prompt reply.
If I understand you correctly, all skins except the default skin got removed...but I didn't lose any other functionality from my unlocked GMMP when it updated. And none of this is related to my recent encryption. Am I correct?
If I download the Classic Cyan skin, will that let me choose icons in the nav bar? The only reason I care is that they are easier for my aging eyes to see than plain text.
The app icon doesn't matter to me (in fact, the robot is cuter than the triangle).
Thanks again.

JEP No, as i said before the icons were removed completely due to the reasons i listed. If you want to use the icons you will have to revert to the 1.4.17.1 version and the 1.4 skins (your unlocker will work with the apks linked on the site i mentioned) Otherwise no functionality was lost in the 1.5 update. If you need help reverting to the 1.4 version I will gladly assist you

Ah, got it. I thought you meant you got rid of the app icon (the blue triangle), not the nav bar icons. I'll stick with the updated 1.5 version and see if I get used to (and can read) the plain text nav bar. I have minimal needs and would rather not mess around with adding apps on top of apps and/or installing outdated versions. I'll adapt. If not, it's good to know 1.4 is still available. Thanks for the replies...and for a great music player.

1.5 did also add the ability to rename the tabs.. so you could make them all caps, which should help with visibility prefs -> now playing -> rename views
