Hi!! After trying several Android media players for my Dell Venue 8 tablet with a 32 gig ext micro SD card, I think I am going to stay with GMMP! Having said that, when I scanned the card that contains almost 9,000 songs, it appears that for every album the first track would get re-named & re-tracked with the same name and track # as the last track on the album. Any thoughts or ideas short of reloading the files on the card from my PC and rescanning?

the gmmp scanner is read only so it wouldnt do any modifcation.. if you want you can go to prefs -> general -> send database and email me a copy of the gmmp database and i can look at it... but honestly it sounds like the tags are just messed up
If you go to the albums in the file browser does it show up the same way?

Thanks for getting back to me. You're question about the file browser got me thinking and I realized that the real problem is that something causes the first track of an album whose album artist is listed as"Various" to be displayed separately as an album of the same title but with the album artist being the artist of that track. When I see that, I use your tag editor to change the album artist to various and that is when that single track gets the same track number and name as the last track listed in the album file that had"Various" listed as album artist. My data base is almost 28 gig so I'm not sure how to e-mail something that large. Is the a way to just send part of it as a sample?

The database isnt your whole collection of music haha.. its a file inside gmmp that lists all your songs and its metadata. Prefs -> General -> Send Database
Just give me some examples of the track that gets renamed and i can look for that

OK, here are two albums where the first track was split off from the rest and listed separately: "Going South" and "Grease". Yeah, I guess that was a kind of a "duh" moment thinking that I would be sending all of the actual data. So, I will now attempt to send you the data base file. Thanks for your help.
