What I'm looking for is a way to manually add random songs to the queue and play them in the order added. Currently, If I 'Play Next' on Track A, Then B, Then C, The order in which they play is C, B, A.

play next adds the selection after the currently playing song, enqueue adds to the end of the queue
so if you want to play in a certain order you enqueue them instead of play next

Here is how I've been using Rockbox for years now. GMMP's queue is the same thing as Rockbox's 'current playlist'. In Rockbox when you queue something, it adds it to the 'current playlist' immediately after the current song or the last queued track and flagged as temporary. When it finishes playing something flagged as temporary, it is removed from the 'current playlist'.
I have a handful of playlists that I use regularly and I always keep them on shuffle. Sometimes I get an itch to hear a song or album or handful of songs. So I queue what I'm craving to hear and when those are done, it goes back to playing the 'current playlist.
AFAICT, to achieve something close to this now with GMMP, I would need to use the 'Remove from queue' option, Enqueue the tracks I want to listen to, skip to the first newly queued track at the bottom of the queue, and turn off shuffle. When the newly queued tracks finish, I would then need to turn shuffle back on and when the queue stops playing, I need to requeue a playlist.
I have been sifting through many music players and GMMP is the closest to what I'm looking for. Rockbox was not meant to run as an app and I constantly have problems with it.

ah.. well in gmmp the queue is the queue and there is no concept of temporary.. it was designed for creating queues on the fly
if you were shuffling your collection what you want would be easily achieved with just enqueue (with shuffle cancellation on) it would queue up after the song is playing and then turn off shuffle and play through the list
