Within the last two versions of GoneMAD, without me changing any settings, whenever I'm in the lock screen with the music playing and I press the previous or next buttons, GoneMAD now displays. It didn't used to do this. Is there any way to disable this? (I've looked in the settings and can't find anything). It's annoying mainly because when GoneMAD appears the control buttons then shift position, so the lockscreen's "next track" button works once, then GoneMAD appears, and I normally hit "Shuffle" within GoneMAD which is now where the "next track" button was on the lock screen, which breaks the workflow badly.
The other issue I'm having is GoneMAD isn't sorting all tracks (both mp3s and mp4 files with valid metadata tags). There are about 5 tracks that for some reason it continually (despite me rescanning and cleaning the database) AND editing the tags within GoneMAD it gets wrong.
Basically it seems to be prioritising albums over both artist and album artist. These songs are all for different artists, and I've tried with both "" and "Misc" as the album, and GoneMAD is showing the obviously wrong songs for the wrong artist within categories for other artists.
e.g. Song1 - Album1 - Artist 1 Song2 - Album1 - Artist 2 Song3 - Album1 - Artist 3
substitute "Album1" for "" or "Misc", and if I select "Artist 1" from the artist list, it shows Song1 AND Song2, which is wrong, as for Song2 it even shows the other artist name underneath!
Thanks,

I dont really understand what you are trying to say. You are using the default music controls and when you hit next track the gonemad lockscreen pops up? Pressing next/previous does nothing with the UI.. its sent directly to the music service.. so unless you can provide me with some more detail to clarify what you are saying I will have to say your installation got corrupt or something like that and you need to reinstall. The only time GMMP will launch the lockscreen is when the screen is turned off/on while music is playing and the GMMP lockscreen is enabled

Are you talking about sorting or grouping? They are different things. If music is in the same folder gmmp groups by albumartist (if it exists) and albumname. If you do not use the albumartist field, music with the same albumname will get grouped together if its in the same folder. This is to pick up various artist albums
There is a setting in the scanner to allow it to use the year to group as well, but that is off by default.
So if you have music with the same album name in the same folder, you have to use the album artist tag otherwise it will show up as a various artist album
Also the "Artist" tab sorts by album artist by default, if you hit menu -> artist it will switch to the artist tag which will most likely give you the results you expect

Basically, the screen's off, I hit power, the lockscreen appears with the standard bottom row of left, pause and right. If I press right, the track moves to the next one, but then GoneMAD appears as well. It didn't use to do this. Should it have been doing this? Before the only way to bring GoneMAD's actual interface up from the lock screen was to swipe the music navigation bar at the bottom upwards. I quite liked that workflow... I'll try re-installing I guess... "Are you talking about sorting or grouping? They are different things. If music is in the same folder gmmp groups by albumartist (if it exists) and albumname. I don't really care about the order things are in, but if I select an artist called "Artist 1", I only expect to see songs / albums by "Artist 1" if I'm in the "Artist" menu. Or is that not how it works? I'm pretty certain it's just the same Album name for the songs causing the trouble. I've tried setting the Album artist tag and the Artist tag to the same items for all the songs causing issues, and nothing seems to change the behaviour (after re-scanning and clearing DB). Thanks.

Yea that definitely shouldnt be happening. I would try the reinstall. You can save/restore ratings/playcounts in prefs -> general -> backup
The Artist tab shows album artist by default.. so since one album can only have one album artist.. it will list the whole album. I will call this "albumartist mode". If you go to menu -> artist, it switches to "artist mode" which will only list songs in an album from that artist. The mode you are using is saved so you just have to enable it once and then it will only ever display things from that specific artist
