I like to listen to my podcasts in a playlist arranged by release dates. Problem is when I queue up a playlist, listen for a while, stop, then come back to the app, my playlist disappears. Tried bookmarking from where I left off then just load the playlist back up but it isn't working for me. My podcasts are on an external storage.

when the queue disappears that means the files are not scanned into the library. BE sure your collection is scanned in. Prefs -> Scanner has a bunch of scan options. You can also scan by long pressing in the file browser or by entering a folder with music.
This issue should only really occur when you select a folder of folders to plays that have not be scanned in. I did not want to run a deep scan every time a user selected a folder to play since that could take a long time

Disappearing items are very confusing and MADdening.

there are auto scan options available in the scanner
and yes it auto scans when playing a file from the browser and will scan a folder with files in it. What doesnt get scanned if you play a folder.. containing folders. This is referred to as a deep scan.. those children folders dont get scanned
