When scanning the external SD card (64gig), not all albums are being picked up. For example, an artist has 4 albums (each album in its own folder), but only 3 albums show up in the library. The music on the card is meticulously tagged and organized. File structure is a simple: Root --> Artist --> Album I've tried all different combinations of scanner settings and delete the database on each try, but same result. Have rebuilt the database many many times. Still same problem. Library contains about 15,000 songs, 900 artists and 1600 albums. HTC Rezound with ICS 4.0.3. Rooted, but no custom ROM or anything fancy. I'll send logs, databases or whatever you want if you need to examine anything. Other than this glitch, you've created a helluva player. Was using PlayerPro, and was reasonably pleased, but somehow missed GoneMad until I found it last week. Wow. You've done a tremendous job overall. Bought the Pro version within 10 minutes of using the trial.

Do you have any "unknown" entries in the library? Scanning mp3 tags is quite a hassle due to the many taggers that existed over the years that do not follow the id3 specs
From the folder browser you can also long press a folder and tell it to scan (you will most likely have to hit menu -> refresh from one of the library views to get the latest data from the database)

Do you have any "unknown" entries in the library? No "unknown artist" entries. Scanning mp3 tags is quite a hassle due to the many taggers that existed over the years that do not follow the id3 specs I use Tag&Rename for all tagging. Has always seemed stable and standards compliant. From the folder browser you can also long press a folder and tell it to scan (you will most likely have to hit menu -> refresh from one of the library views to get the latest data from the database) Will give that a try right now. Thanks for the lightning fast followup!

No go. In fact, the artist with only 3 of 4 albums showing now only shows 2 of the 4 albums. Strange.

I discovered the issue and it's not GoneMAD. When viewing the tags closer, I just noticed that 2 of the 4 albums use a slightly different character for one letter of the artist's name. Never noticed before because the characters visually appeared the same, but they are not. So obviously to GoneMAD this is catalogued as 2 different artists (which makes sense) and that's why only 2 of the 4 albums showed up. I rescanned and the issue is fixed. Sorry for never noticing that until now. Thanks for the awesome support. Wow you're fast!

FartManly. You mentioned that you were using Tag&Rename. I wanted to suggest a FAR FAR better tag renamer which I discovered awhile back and which is free. Developer is also very responsive like GoneMAD. It's called TagScanner - you can find it at www.xdlab.ru/en/index.htm. Tag&Rename is good for minor tag tweaks 'coz you can launch it from right-click context menu on folder/files. TagScanner is excellent for batch tagging of larger volumes and albums.
