Hi, great app. A few suggestions/questions...
1. Wondering if it's possible to automatically choose the best quality album art available? I have higher quality art saved as folder.jpg and cover.jpg in each album directory, but GMMP seems to choose the embedded art in the ID3 tag over these even if the embedded art is very low quality. I realise I can do this manually by selecting the image for each album but this would be very time consuming.
2. Also, is it possible to have an option for larger album art images and font size in the library views? I find it a bit small to read on my 540x960px phone.
3. Is it possible to have album art display in the file browser view?
4. A suggestion that in album library view when an individual album is selected, tapping the album name/image header at the top of the screen goes back to the main list view.
Thanks!

Thanks! 1) Cant really determine best quality, but at some point i'll have a way to select the priority for album art selection. Right now embedded always takes priority but with a priority setup.. you can say which would be preferred.. embedded or an image in a folder 2) a grid view and customizable font is planned... but just like most things i have no idea when they will be addressed 3) its possible but i dont really have any plans at the time to put artwork in the browser 4) tap the tab name again of the view you are in and it will return to the root

Hello, Thanks for such a fast reply! "someone did suggest to allow the user to define the image used for the default album art" Yeah would be great! But, I like the present album art ok... changing its color only would be enough for me "most launchers like nova or apex will let you change the icon without root" I have apex... but, it only lets me change the icon if I have an image file (photo) I want to use. So, I use root to cut the .png image files out of apk's... "but what defines startup?" Yeah... I would say its rather this - "when the UI is opened with no music playing". Once you open UI - you're most likely about to listen to something right away And the "the music service is first started" - does the "music service" starts once on android startup and then keeps running, or it is triggered by some music/video players? Basically, what I was thinking - is that for example you watch the movie, it's too quiet, you turn on volume to max, after that you launch music player and since the volume is on max it may shock you. Music may sound real loud. So... probably UI (or just the opening of the app"? but it doesn't really gets killed by android right on closing right? Then - UI...) "for example track 1 - back button - track 12, last on album" "I can add that to the request list" Thanks!!! "As for the browser if you click the browser tab when already the browser it brings you to the root" True... Well what I would be happy to get out of it is a "(windows)explorer-like" interface - with a constant UP button. This button would help in case there are lots of music folders, I believe.. The UP button is present now - but, it is kind of "floating", so it disappears (goes up) on list scroll and therefore is not really "reliable". Now you see it, now you don't.. Also there's no UP button to press right from the "Now playing" screen - you need to use "Browser Tab" at least once to get to the music list, and then you need to use that "floating" UP button. Something like that. In any case, GoneMad UI is most convenient I met on android. I appreciate that Only that going up UP button confuses sometimes, that's why I am trying to request the separate - or at least a "constant" UP button.. Thanks!!

The music service's lifetime isnt 100% consistent. It will start when the app is first launched and music is played. If the user has the "music service timeout" setting enabled it will shut itself down after being idle for 5 minutes or so. If that setting is on it will stay "running" in the background. By running it just sits idle in the background (it wont use any cpu unless its sent a message.. ie you plug in your headphones). The android OS can shut it down if it needs the resources however

"The music service's lifetime isnt 100% consistent. It will start when the app is first launched and music is played" - if I close app manually, does the music service stops?.. By the way, something else about browser button. If you press browser button once, it takes you to playing folder's songs list. If you press browser button twice, it takes you to the folder root. Ok. Now, if you press browser button twice, get to the root, and then get back to "now playing" by pressing "now playing" button, and then you want to get to playing folder's songs list - by pressing browser button once - you won't be able to do that anymore. Even single press of the browser button will take you to the root. So, to get to playing folder's songs list now, you will need to travel all the way from the root to that folder. Seems complicated, but actually it's very easy to reproduce this sequence. I found it because I use GoneMad player a lot, and have lots of music on device.. One of the reasons I eager to have a constant UP button..

if you go to menu -> exit then yes the music service stops
The browser maintains its state even when you go back to now playing, so when you go to press the browser again.. it will return you to your last position.. in your case its teh root. There is a menu -> jump to playing in the browser to jump to the playing folder.. there is also a jump to playing feature from now playing that defaults to a long press
You can jump straight to teh playing folder, artist, album, albumartist or genre
