Hi, Just testing out the trial of GoneMad on my Galaxy Note 2 running 4.1.2. Playing the "Abbey Road" medley I notice that the next track kicks in a fraction too soon. This post ( gonemadmusicplayer.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=bugs&thread=196&post=1646 ) referred to it as aggressive which is a good way of describing it. Surprisingly the one player that appears (to these ears) to cope with gapless flawlessly is the built in "Google Play Music" although the EQ settings are awful along with a few other things! Having lined up the original flac files in Adobe Audition along with a recording of the output of my Note 2, it seems the following track is kicking in around 0.05 second early. This may seem minor, but when you know the songs well it sounds like a little skip. The files were converted to mp3 using Media Monkey with the lame plugin. I also redid them with Foobar and soundkonverter and the same thing happened. Just realised (having posted) that I should see if the same happens with the original flac files. I'll do that and report back. So far I'm enjoying playing with GoneMad and it's extensive features and it's certainly the best I've tried out. I am getting a few Touch Wiz crashes but I'm more bothered by the gapless problem! Thanks for your time.

Re: post above...
I've just loaded on the original flac files and there is no problem. The slight skip only happens with the mp3 files.

This is quickly turning into a one man thread - my apologies.
Having just unchecked Open SL, the playback now seems fine.
Gapless playback even works fine on Abbey Road (my test album) with gapless unchecked, so I'm now very confused!
I'll continue testing...

Opensl is a pain in the ass. I actually had to write some code to compensate for it but im only able to trst on rhe devices i own. Opensl actually would cut off some of the beginning data so when i read the metatdata saying how much to skip for gapless, it skips too far

Thanks for your quick reply.
I'm not savvy enough to even know what Open SL does but it's turned off on my phone and all is well!

Its basically an audio library for playback and audio decoding. It just seems to be very buggy. Id say 50 percent of my bug reports are related to it.
If mp3 and aac were not loaded with patents id just use a custom decoder for it
