On my device, I have a few folders that contain a mix of my favorite tracks - normally for when I am not in the mood to listen to a specific albums or artists. I also have other folders that each contain a full album. These "Mix" folders generally create lots of "noise" in the Artist, Album, and Genre views. For example, the Album view will show hundreds of albums simply because the Mix folders have single songs from each album. For this very reason, I almost only use the Folder Browser to choose music, especially when I want to listen to an album. I was think it would great if when I set up my scanned folders I could mark specific folders as "candidates" for a "Hide" option that could be toggled on/off when I am in the Artist/Album/Genre views. ;D So for example, let's say I have marked my "\MUSIC\Mixes" folder as a candidate for filtering, then when I go into the Album view, if tap a [to be developed] "Hide Filtered Folders" checkbox/button then those tracks from my "Mixes" folder will not be shown in the list of albums. Hope I explained this well enough.
Thank you.

something like this will be achievable eventually with the smart playlists.. right now you could set one up with a rule that says Filename - doesn't contain - \MUSIC\Mixes and that would show you the list of songs from everything not in the mixes folder.
A feature that will be eventually added to the smart playlists is to be able to set the 'top view' of a smart playlist.. so right now it only shows songs.. but lets say the top view was set to artist.. it would take all the songs matching the rules and show them by artist -> album -> song
