Hi I've got a little problem here with some Tiësto albums in this app (yes, there's a reason why I name the artist here). Whenever I find the albums in the library/folders, I see the Tiësto name fine. But when I then start playing one of the tracks, the ë isn't being shown on the Now Playing screen. The rest is showing fine. On this screenshot it's listed as Album Artist, but it makes the same weird icon instead of the ë if Tiësto is written in artist/album/title tags. You can see how it looks here: Is there any problem with ë and similar charaters? Thanks

Oh, I've found the error. Seems to be something with the cue files. I've fixed it and it shows perfectly like it should now. Sorry for opening a thread before looking at the cue file

no problem. most likely it was an issue with the text encoding

Hi there. I've been having similar issues with folders and file names which include any kind of symbol. What happens is that firstly gmp fails to see the files, but then when looking at the folder structure either using gmp or windows the folder is duplicated with a load of weird symbols in place of the letter with the cedile or whatever. Fortunately I've been able to correct these errors on the HD using windows. Sadly I have a lot of music with symbols, accents etc in the titles!
However, i'm streaming my music via a cifs share so I'm not sure if it's gmp that's doing the duplicating. The router that has the hard disk plugged into it - an Asus n55u - is 'special' to say the least with owners reporting many really odd bugs. I do think that gmp does have issues with letters that include accents over them though. Many files inside corrected folders don't show up and won't play until they have been renamed as well.
Any thoughts? It's not a major issue for me now as I've spent ages renaming all my files (the Balkan folder was annoying!).

I can't right now I'm afraid cos I renamed them all! However, it seems it might be an issue related to cifs manager and not gmp. I've no idea why or how, but ntls_utf8.ko apparently sorts it. It's all quite a learning curve! If anyone else is having similar issues then cifs is a likely place to look for a solution.
Cheers, paul

Oh, here's one! A jpeg:
2000 - Macsã íºé³¯AlbumArt_{5D23231A-F3CD-4193-B3DC-D21E74EE1D5E}_Large
Should read:
2000 - Macsó Hímzés
But as you can see it's been duplicated with a lot of weirdness. Hmmm. Anyway, I'm now pretty sure it's nothing to do with GMP now so sorry for being a timewaster!

Adding a coherent word and a guid to a filename on accident would be quite crazy. It kind of looks like its using an old name/temp name. AlbumArt_{5D23231A-F3CD-4193-B3DC-D21E74EE1D5E}_Large looks like something added to the end of a file that is being automatically downloaded

Sorted it all out now. It definitely wasn't anything to do with gmmp. It was a cifs issue. I needed to load the nts_utf8.ko module to allow non-standard characters to show correctly. Without it you get a pile of unreadable files that cause errors. Hopefully that's it now. Sorted!
