Hi, I have about 500 songs on my phone. I have the player set to shuffle so that I don't hear my songs in the same order. However, I've noticed that I'm hearing some of the same songs every few days. Is there a way to set the player so that it doesn't repeat a song until it has gone through all 500 songs? Thanks Stuart

Look at your queue. All 500 tracks are added to the queue in a randomized order. It's not possible to repeat until the queue is finished or you have multiple versions of the same song in your library
If you are using classic, that has not been supported in years and shuffle is random in that. There is no guarantee you will not get repeats nor all songs will play

Thank you. If I am understanding you correctly I set the player to Normal (not shuffle), randomize the queue and then have the songs play in sequence in the queue.
Another question. What does Auto-DJ do?

Thank you. If I am understanding you correctly I set the player to Normal (not shuffle), randomize the queue and then have the songs play in sequence in the queue. Another question. What does Auto-DJ do? No. Shuffle the playlist. It's contents are placed in the queue all shuffled up and the songs are played in the order they appear in the queue. The entirety of the queue will play in that order listed B4 repeating. You could keep randomizing the queue and it will keep shuffling the order but that shouldnt be needed The order of the songs when shuffling in the queue is pseudorandom (all that is possible with computers/ phones) but you should t be getting the same order every time Auto dj keeps adding content to the end of your queue and is more intelligent. Do we need to be in the Queue before Playing for this randomness to occur? Or can we be in the Library for example and Play there and get the same effect?
Thanks

doesnt matter where you are in the app.
Selecting an item and choosing shuffle on it will add it to the queue shuffled. Similarly if you have content in order in the queue and turn on shuffle from now playing, it will shuffle up all the content in the queue. The queue in GMMP is a bit diff from something like spotify.. GMMP only plays from the queue.. so whenever you select content it will get added to the queue
maybe i should note that just turning on shuffle in now playing does not shuffle your entire collection.. but whatever is in the queue. Library 3 dot menu has a "shuffle all" option that will shuffle the entire collection.
