Sort "Smart list" vs "library AlbumArist - Albums"

I just found an issue and don't know how to fix:

Library "AlbumArtist -> Albums list" (select AlbumArtist to open the album list of the AlbumArtist))
=> Sort by "Artist - Album year"

Smart "Recently added"
=> Sort by  "Date added"

Both views seem to use the same sorting criteria:

As soon as I change one sort criterion in the above lists, the other is automatically changed as well.

However, I want different sorting criteria for the two lists.


any idea how I can adjust this?

if you are talking about the Recently added albums and albumartist -> album list. Yea that is the same view. Sorting is view specific. You have the top level lists which get their own sort.. and then filtered lists which get their own sort. AlbumArtist -> Albums list is a album lists filtered by the specific albumartist and will have the same sort as any other filtered album list view

The sort criteria itselves are working fine!
My point is, that I cannot have different sort criteria in Albums List of the Album Artist and the recently added list (saved, I can change them of course at every use).

yea that's how its designed. Despite what it looks every view is not unique. Everything other than the top views are smart playlist views under the hood. And you really need to specify.. you are talking about recently added ALBUMS, not recently added smart playlist. Recently added shows songs and can have a different sort order than the albums list.. which is what is shown in my screenshot. Changing its sort order has no impact on the album list

What confuses a little bit:
At the edit page of smart lists (in this case "recently added albums"), I can choose the sort order, like "Date added"



=> means the sort order of this smart list will be overwritten by the general sort options?

(sorry, if the naming is not 100% correct, I am using the German version)

the sort order selected inside the smart playlist is how the tracks that meet the smart playlist criteria are sorted. This is used when playing / enqueue / play next / add to playlist / etc and when viewing the smart playlists grouped by tracks. However if you using the group by feature.. that grouping is purely a visual thing and will use whatever sorting option is selected for the view. Like if grouping by artist and sort order in the playlist is set to "date added" (a field not associated with artists), how would you sort a list of artists by it? How do you sort a list of albums by trackname?

ok, got it ... just need to understand the logic behind everything.
... my logic was very simple from user site: I choose sort option at the smart list, so this what I will see
