So this is installable from the Amazon App Store in the Android Subsystem for Windows. However, when I try to add my Emby server, i get "Server IP must be populated" after I've filled out everything.

i'll have to verify what in the code triggers that error but off the top of my head, accidentally adding a new line when entering the IP would cause it.
" server ip"
instead of "server ip"
Also i think when the IP is entered it shows on the right hand side in the settings underneath the setting to set the ip.. so thats a good way to verify it was actually entered

I'm fairly certain that I'm not adding extra characters/keystrokes into the server text box. It's also displaying what I typed in underneath the the "Server IP" section as well. It also indicates the username and passwords have been filled out after I've typed them in as well.
Thanks, Obs

k i set up my win 11 laptop and was able to reproduce the error... seems to be something specific to win 11. looks like the element containing the entered ip text is just returning nothing
i'll have to dig into it future

oooo.. wow yea these tv android apis are def buggy on windows 11.
Try this. click on server ip, type in the ip and then hit the enter button. If i hit ENTER.. it looks like it accepts what I put in for the ip and tries to log in. If i type in an ip and then simply click on one of the other options.. it will give me the same error you mentioned.
It also appears that once i click on to another setting i cannot go back and change the ip. I have to back out first. I'll have to look to see if there are any leanback api updates (leanback is the android tv sdk), cuz the issue is in googles code
edit: oof the leanback api hasnt been updated since 2021.. it looks like google abandoned it for something new.. wonderful

TLDR: press enter on the keyboard after typing anything into a text field in any settings page, and it should correctly input whatever you typed

Holy crap I'm late getting back to this. I thought for sure it would email me on replies. It's still not fixed to me. If I do the click method, I still get the Server must be populated. If I use the Press Enter method, I get a different error. "Can't connect to /10.0.0.32:8096" This is on 2.0.3.
Thanks, Gary

click method worked just fine for me on windows.. not much more i can do without being able to reproduce it. If you get the cannot connect error then the ip you entered is wrong or the server is not running on that ip port combo. amazon's testers are super picky about accepting updates too: imgur.com/T2vw90T

Emby is definitely setup correctly. I have QuasiTV running on my Nvidia Shield and it works like a champ. That said, if you got it working for you, then I probably have some weird one off issue. I appreciate you looking into it though.

The slash in front of the error message did seem odd (I don't have the code in front of me to check). You are just entering the IP or are you doing http(s)://ip

Oh! It's not just the IP field that requires you to hit enter. It's all of them (really not sure why clicking doesn't do it for you tho, that's weird)
The error was likely cuz it wasn't getting your login or password
