Not a major issue, but the change to Media Controls is a minor regression for my particular use. I use a Galaxy Z Flip 4 phone (my wife bought it for me months ago, and I quite like it), running Android 13.
In GMMP 3.3 settings, I am able to select "show when compact" for the seek back, pause/play, and seek forward buttons: this makes them the three buttons that show on the small outer screen's media control. This allows me to skip forward/back without having to flip the phone open -- very handy when listening to podcasts or audiobooks when out walking.
The change in GMMP 3.4 results in the next/previous track buttons showing on the outer screen control no matter what I choose in settings. I can no longer skip forward or back # seconds without opening the phone and using the full-size lock screen media control.
An edge case, certainly, but enough of an issue for me that I'll be sticking with 3.3 until there are new features in 3.4 that are even more important for my use (or I decide to switch to a non-flip phone).
Thanks for all your work on GMMP. It's the best.

google forced the change.. nothing i can do about it. Google forces targeting the latest android api.. targeting the latest android api forces the media control change unfortunately. 100% blame google for that one developer.android.com/about/versions/13/behavior-changes-13#playback-controlsedit: if you do remove the next/prev track completely from the media controls you can get whatever you want to show in the outer screen.. the "primary" buttons. having next/prev will always consume those main 2 slots. Its definitely a stupid decision from google

I'll try the trick of completely removing those two from the media controls -- thanks for that tip. EDIT: Yes, removing next/prev track from the media controls does indeed work to get me what I want on the outer screen. Unfortunately it means that next/prev track controls don't appear on the lock screen player -- but I can live with that, as I typically use tap controls on my earbuds for those actions anyway. Thanks again. Between Google and Samsung software decisions, sometimes I am amazed anything works at all

if you are having issues you will likely have to clear the apps cache/data. The android updater corrupted the install

I have a weird issue. The artist art of artist with non-acsii name (e.g., Japanese artists) are now being saved as "_____.jpg". As a result, all artists with same amount of non-ascii characters in their names now show the same artist art. I couldn't pinpoint to when this issue started happening, but it seems to be between April 2022 and April 2023. Below is a screenshot of my internal storage>gmmp>artistart. At the bottom, you can see a "中村佳穂.jpg" which was properly saved with a kanji character file name on 23th April 2022, but near the top, the artist 新しい学校のリーダーズ was saved as "_____.jpg" on 23th April 2023. The only change that happened to my player between these time periods, that I think might be related to the issue, was it got updated to Android 10. Is this an unfix-able Android issue? Sorry if my English was hard to understand.

i'd have to check the code and test myself.. but i dont recall any changes in GMMP between those time periods that touched anything related to downloading images / saving images to disk. It does do some checks on the potential filename to remove any illegal character.. but illegal characters on android are pretty limited (and are also ascii characters)
