I would like to create smart playlists from regular playlists (not sure the actual term). For example, to select all songs in a constructed playlist with a particular genre.
Alternatively, I think it's possible to do this with tagging, but not sure if there's a way to batch tag a whole playlist.
Appreciate any insight into this.

When you start a "New" Smart playlist, you can use the chain symbol at the top right to "link" to another playlist. You can add several if you choose.

Thanks for the quick reply. When I use that link, I only see smart playlists. Is there a way to tie it to non-smart ones?

playlist file contents are not indexed in the database and therefore not available for smart playlists
