Hey,
I'm wondering if it would be possible for GMMP to read windows-shortcuts to files.
For example:
Got two folders: Folder 1: Containing complete Albums Folder 2: Containing mixed Artists Singles
I downloaded a new Album. I only want a specific Track of that Album to show in the smartplylist who has all my new singles downloaded. Then I could simply put a shortcut to the mp3 file within the folder of the singles and the smartplaylist automatically behaves like the song would actually be in that folder too.
Right now I have to duplicate the files, which ends up in duplicates within the Album views.
Or do you got another suggestion (except putting that single song in the smartplaylist, which would be too much effort and the smartplaylist would get too long).
Thanks in advance and best greets ✌🏿

Thanks, though this only works for folders and doesn't seem to be practical as it's not that simple than on Windows. Maybe a feature to add a song to a smartplaylist would be nice. (Simply add the song as condition.)

you can symlink files and folders.. either way outside of the scope of this app
smart playlists are rule based and individual files cannot just be added. If you want to add a specific song you would need to add the full path of the file as a rule. filename equals path/to/mp3.
If your goal is to is something like a "new singles" smart playlist, you can always just leverage multi genre to group your music into different smart playlists (Artist equals X and Genre contains Single).. either way you are going to have to find a way with the current gonemad capabilities to do what you desire

It should simply be a new rule which gets created and only contains the path of that specific select song. The flow could be as simple as adding a song to a regular playlist: - select the song - select the smartplaylist to add the song to - a new rule containing only the path to that specific song gets created within an or condition. (Maybe it would be also practical to add all of these single songs within an extra group in each smartplaylist) This would be a cool way to combine smartplaylists and static playlists within GMMP, as requested from many people. However I understand it may not be your priority to implement sth. like this.

They can be treated like generic tags Any request that is for a very specific use case is not going to be something I have time to look at
