Resume playing after Bluetooth reconnect does not work

Hello,
first of all thank you for the great player, I like the new UI and the smart playlists most.
I've got a problem on my Samsung S7FE tablet, that gmmp does not resume playing after Bluetooth reconnect. Strangely, this does work in gmmp on my Huawei Mate 20 Pro with the same settings. Also, on the S7FE resume playback does work with other players like player pro and rocket player.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Gmmps music service needs to be running in order for it to work. Newer versions of android are pretty aggressive in killing it. Turning off power saver / battery optimizations usually helps as well

Thank you for your input. But even when the tablet screen is on and GMMP is on top, the behaviour is the same: the player does not start playing after Bluetooth reconnect.

Is the setting enabled to always resume on bt connection? It defaults to only resume after being auto paused by a disconnect

Yes, auto resume and always resume at Bluetooth inner re enabled.
