Hi there,
I have trouble playing some ogg-files with GoneMAD. Some files of the same album are not playing anymore, but others do. The files are playing fine with vlc or Vanilla on the same mobile phone. The files do not look special when checked with file oder oggz-validate on my GNU/Linux machine. They are playing fine on all my devices with every player I checked (mainly mpd). Any idea how I can start investigating this problem a little further. I like GoneMAD alot and I do not want to switch elsewere.

you posted under the wrong app's forums. moved it up to gonemad music player
email some files that dont work to gonemadsoftware@gmail.com. GMMP uses ffmpeg for ogg decoding which has handled all ogg i've ever thrown at it (ogg vorbis / flac / opus)

Oh, sorry, thanks for moving this to the right place. A small addition here: I tested this with GondMAD Classic and it works. You will get an ogg-file which is not working in the current GoneMAD version. Thanks for your help.

3.3 had an audioengine update that consolidated some of the decoders into just using ffmpeg for everything. ogg was one of them. ffmpeg does not seem to be able to read that file for whatever reason (id have to look at the ffmpeg bug reports to see if there are any ogg related ones).
mp3 and aac have fallbacks to use opensl when ffmpeg fails, I should be able to do the same thing for ogg vorbis

FYI i added the old decoder as a fallback and that ogg file you sent now plays. fix will be in 3.3.10

Firstly, it's possible that the Ogg files themselves are corrupt or encoded in a way that is not compatible with the player. You could try playing the files on a different media player or computer to see if they work properly. If they do, then the issue may lie with GoneMAD. Another possibility is that the version of GoneMAD you're using may not support the specific encoding of the Ogg files you're trying to play ogg files. In this case, you could try updating the player to the latest version to see if the issue is resolved.

Another potential is the extension is incorrect and its not an actual ogg file at all. Some players will play it fine but gmmp requires a correct extension. I had one case where a user had some m4a files that were actually mp3s with the wrong extension

I had one case where a user had some m4a files that were actually mp3s with the wrong extension This often seems to be the case with some online YouTube audio extractors.
