Is there a way to create a smart playlist that is based off a static playlist?
I want to make a smart playlist that is essentially 'all songs that are in my faves playlist that haven't been played in the last 30 days'
Thanks for the help!

playlist contents are not stored in the database, so this is not possible

Thanks for the answer. That is interesting that playlists aren't in the database. That might explain a 3-5 second delay I run into when loading some of my playlists (250 files) Also patrick thanks for the tasker idea. Is there any recommended metadata I might use to mimic playlists in the database? For example I could change the 'genre' of each song to be 'playlist_1' and then I could use that genre in the smart playlist. Obviously I don't want to use genre for this purpose. Any other metadata I might consider?

I had considered using the 'comment' metadata, but that doesn't seem to be available as a smart playlist criteria.

comments arent stored in the db for performance reasons. maybe mp3s out there have super bloated comments that are mostly useless.
GMMP supports multiple genres so you can use that without losing the original genre information.. or perhaps using the composer tag as that doesnt show anywhere by default.
"That might explain a 3-5 second delay I run into when loading some of my playlists (250 files)" as for slower loading playlists, if your playlists dont contain the full path to the file on your device, or a path relative to the playlist location, it might take awhile to load since it has to find the files on the device. I've tested with playlists of 20k+ files in it and the load time was only a few seconds if all the paths were correct
