so you waited until just now to do the first thing i suggested in the thread??
"assuming the multi folder album setting is enabled in the scanner settings.. if you match the album artist, album name, and year it should correctly add to the same album. Having the albumartist tag set is the important part" posted back in november

The year has always been matched (they were all set to 0). I didn't realise you had to have an actual year in the tag.
As I said, none of this happens with any other music player app I've used (they all have issues, but this isn't one of them), and if I may say, it isn't clear from the Scanner tick boxes that they only apply to the initial scan.
Your app is great, and the Enqueue Shuffled feature is brilliant, but the library / scanner system could do with being a little less finicky, in my opinion.

If the scanner doesn’t assign the database values effectively from the scan, how can the library be managed the way it is? Besides having proper tags in the first place, there is some grace already that GMMP does to “guess” in certain areas when tags are missing. Plus this allows the Smart Playlist functions to work, another very BIG function that other players don’t have. I’ll take the picky accurate scanner over losing these abilities. IMO.

Setting the year to something other than 0 was never required. Not sure why that works for you. 0 is a valid number and is treated no different than 2022 in the scanner. Perhaps fixing the year also corrected some other underlying issue with the tags. I can only guess at this point since I was never given files that cause the issue to debug with The scanner is "finicky" in order to work for the most possible situations. Android media store splits albums way more often or groups incorrectly than gmmp

Besides, now it's actually working I haven't got unmatched files to send.
