yea that sounds good. I hadn't noticed how you can toggle between artist/album artist in the artist library. Adding an extra toggle for composer would be great. Although, if grouped by album artist, for an album with different track artists it still spits into artist groups so the same idea of grouping just by album title and ignoring new folders should be employed here as well. Presumably changing one would change the other anyway.

I have found a temporary solution to this by using a different piece of software to transfer files from Mac to Android which gives the opportunity to rearrange files in folders by album.
However, it is based on Applescript and is a bit slow as well as being unavailable to anyone using a Windows PC so I still think the changes mentioned before would be worthwhile.
While I'm writing I thought of something else. This being my first Android device, I am amazed at how little memory is available in this day and age. Would it be possible to support moving GMMP to the sd card as internal memory is at such a premium.
Cheers

Yea, I've heard that too, but then I read something else that suggested that it was only a problem if the sd card was removed. Talk about stating the obvious, if the card is not there of course it won't work.
Either way I don't use the widget so it doesn't bother me as long as the main app works. I have seen other players installed on the sd card with no problems. Perhaps you could implement it and add a warning about the widgets and let the user decide what they want.
I'm getting really tight for memory and this would give me about 40% more.

what version of the android OS are you running? It could be because im using cyanogenmod 7, but i already have the option to move gmmp to the sd card

I have version 2.3.5
I'm no expert (in fact a real novice) but if you have cyanogenmod doesn't that mean the device is rooted? If so you can move anything can't you. Unfortunately no one seems to know how to root my phone (HTC wildfire S) so I am stuck with not being able to move any apps which have not been specifically written to allow it. It's a bit of a pain really as I can't uninstall any of the stuff I don't want that came preloaded when I bought it either.

yeah its rooted so that is probably why. It's been ages since I was on the stock rom so i dont remember if the move to sd option was there. I'll test it out in the emulator

Brilliant, thanks ever so much. Albums now grouped as I would like, multi disk albums sorted correctly and I've recovered some of my rapidly dwindling memory by moving to sd card One little thing, if I change tracks when something is already playing either by selecting something else from the track list or pressing the next track button on the now playing screen. I get a funny buzzing noise for a fraction of a second whilst the track changes. Is this normal or is there some setting which could help resolve it? Not a big problem, just a little annoyance especially when the selected track starts immediately and has no silence at the beginning as the buzzing then merges into the start of the track.

hm do you have crossfade enabled? I'm wondering if the buzz is caused by the slight lack of audio for that split second while its changing tracks. Preference -> Audio -> Crossfade -> Manual Crossfade is the setting for when you manually change tracks. I personally put it on the min time of like 250ms so it does a clean transition into the new track
glad to hear everything else works

Yeh you're on to something there. I didn't have crossfade enabled before but I have just tried it but only for manual track changes. Now when I click on the right hand seek button the buzz has almost completely gone. However there is not difference when I click the left hand seek button to go back a track or select a new track from the album list. In fact it doesn't even sam to cross fade when changing tracks that way. As a test I changed the duration to 5000ms. Clearly crosfades when moving forwards but not backwards of from the album list and still gets the buzzing sound on the latter two. Is it supposed to do that?

i may have not coded it to crossfade in those 2 situations you mention.. i'll have to take a look
let me ask.. was the buzzing always there? Do you use the equalizer at all?
