Hello again, I'm really satisfied so far with GoneMad; only one problem remains quite important. Sometimes words in the database are with non-standard characters, like "Antonín Dvořák" (important composer) or "varieté" or something like that. If, in the search, I type "Dvorak", nothing appears because, of course, the composer is named "Dvořák", and, in GoneMad's view, these are different characters. In other programs like foobar2000 or, for example, in the Google search, it's not necessary to type the special characters; "Dvorak" of course will also find "Dvořák". This is, again, a very useful function which, I suspect, should not be too difficult to implement in the handling of the SQL database. Er... could you... pleeease? Thaaaaanks! Merry Christmas, Hasenbein

Hello GoneMad,
great updates recently! Thanks!
But the above problem persists :-(
When you type in search, for instance, "Souffle" (when in the tag it's stored as "Soufflé"), you get no results and you wonder if either the tracks have gone or Gonemad hasn't stored them properly in the database... so it's really a relevant issue...

i dont think i ever got around to looking at it.. at the time of the original post i was doing testing for 1.4 so i must have forgotten. I"ll mark it on my list... i think before the search is done the search text gets formatted which might lose some of the utf characters

i did some research and unfortunately there is no way to do an ascii only search in sqlite (the database android/gmmp uses) if the data is stored in UTF-8
