I am having some issues on version 3.0.4: - Theme Accent Color changes have no effect if Advanced Settings is on; changes work if Advanced Settings are off. - Theme Accent Color is not changed when restoring settings. This can possibly be related to the bug above, since Advanced Settings must be enabled to restore settings. - Artist Artwork is not shown in the Artists or Album Artists library views using a structure /.../Artist/Folder.jpg after deleting the database and rescanning. It was shown in previous versions. Clicking on the Artwork menu displays the correct artwork in the folder, it is just not shown in the library view. Album artwork with the structure /.../Artist/Album/Folder.jpg is shown correctly. - Lyrics are not displayed for some files, just a blank background, irregardless of the base UI theme. I could not find a pattern to identify the files that work and those that do not. Despite these minor annoyances, GoneMAD is still the best music player for Android. I find those 1 star reviews unfair, people are just resistant to change. Is there a link to version 3.0.3? I would rather rescan in 3.0.3 and update afterwards than manually set the artwork for the artists " - Theme Accent Color changes have no effect if Advanced Settings is on; changes work if Advanced Settings are off." i'll look into it " - Theme Accent Color is not changed when restoring settings. This can possibly be related to the bug above, since Advanced Settings must be enabled to restore settings." yea i should have a bug on trello already for that. Theming was handled by another library and it stores its configurations in a different settings file which is why i assume it doesnt get restored. It dont expect it to be too difficult to fix " - Artist Artwork is not shown in the Artists or Album Artists library views using a structure /.../Artist/Folder.jpg after deleting the database and rescanning. It was shown in previous versions. Clicking on the Artwork menu displays the correct artwork in the folder, it is just not shown in the library view. Album artwork with the structure /.../Artist/Album/Folder.jpg is shown correctly." I did make some tweaks.. which i thought would make it more flexible but i guess not. Still weird that it shows when manually viewing it since they use the same searches. /.../Artist/Album/Folder.jpg is definitely the structure that should be used. That or /.../Artist/Album/Artist.jpg. I'll figure it out. I had to juggle around a lot of code quickly due to all the really bad scanner issues some users were having " - Lyrics are not displayed for some files, just a blank background, irregardless of the base UI theme. I could not find a pattern to identify the files that work and those that do not." Email me a file that doesnt show and i can look at it. I think i had one other user email me one that was having issues but i havent looked at it yet. I'm not a user of lyrics so the only test data i had was some that i tagged myself, or that users sent me due to previous issues. So lets just say my test sample count is pretty small. If the UI is blank it sounds like it sees that there are lyrics present.. but is failing when parsing the lyrics. I assume the tag editor will show the lyrics? "Is there a link to version 3.0.3? I would rather rescan in 3.0.3 and update afterwards than manually set the artwork for the artists " i can post the apk for 3.0.3.. assuming android studio didnt wipe my build directory. What device do you have so i can get you the right apk? (if you know the version code of gmmp that would also work.. its most likely 90000 something or 40000 something) - I use /.../Artist/Album/Folder.jpg for Album Artwork and that is shown on the Media Library view - I use /.../Artist/Folder.jpg for Artist Artwork and that is not shown on the Media Library view - The lyrics are indeed show in the tag editor as you assumed - For my device I would need the file gmmp-3.0.3-arm64.apk Like I said these are just minor annoyances so there is no need to rush if there are more pressing issues.

When artwork is downloaded, sometimes it displays a resolution, and other times Small, Medium, Large, etc. What are the resolutions of those named sizes? Is it in the pipeline to be able specify a desired image size or size range in settings?

Is it in the pipeline to be able specify a desired image size or size range in settings? Depending on the api used, it'll show something different. Some only respond with a general size.. others return with the actual resolution. From what i remember large/very large are 800x800 or higher typically

Will be fixed in the next build For the artist art.. does NOTHING show up? or the wrong images (ones not in the folder)

3.0.5 (2021/02/05): If you are having odd issues with the app, try clearing the app's data/cache and retrying
New: Added basic fast scroll to browser and playlist details views Updated translation
Fixes: Fixed scanner deadlock that freeze the scan and make the app unresponsive Last playing variable should now correctly populate date function now defaults to format YYYY-MM-dd if no date format is passed in Fixed some issues with GMMP showing up as a music player in other apps Fixed displaying unsynchronized lyrics that start with a bracket Fixed artist art always failing back to album artwork Art local cache search is now lower priority than embedded and in folder searches Split view changes on tablets should now apply right away
Was not planning on releasing another update this soon but there was a critical bug with 3.0.4 that needed fixing
edit: this is still pending approval but the apk is available in the downloads section of the main site

Thanks for the 3.0.3 link! For the artist art.. does NOTHING show up? or the wrong images (ones not in the folder) On 3.0.4 NOTHING shows in the Artist Artwork. Not an incorrect image, just the default image with the artist initials.

Not an incorrect image, just the default image with the artist initials. k thanks. See if 3.0.5 (its live now) helps but it probably wont.. or i should say i had no issue with 3.0.4 finding my local art (tested with artist.jpg and theactualartistsname.jpg), so the issue has to be something different. The fact taht 3.0.3 worked fine is a bit confusing since there wasnt really any changes to teh actual search.. just the code that orchestrated the searching Anyway if 3.0.5 doesnt help then i'll dig deeper

I like this new player, but I'm wondering if there is a variable to show how many tracks an album has. I used to be able to display that, but %tt% now displays how many items are in the queue as a whole, which is not what I want. I can't remember how I did it in the older version.

Opening a folder with 20 files in folderview now takes up to 3 bloody seconds on a Galaxy S9+ Folders should open absolutely instantly and they did in version 2. Since 3.05 I cant' sort albums on date anymore. Everything is sorted alphabetically and no sort icon anymore.
Is there a way to get the update info in the playstore out of sight when the version 2 is manually installed

folders load instantly for me on all my test devices. Only thing that takes a few seconds is opening super long playlist files (like 10k + tracks)
I am actually working on putting 2.x up on the playstore as a separate app because the update issue is a valid concern i didnt think of.

I can confirm the issue with the album artist imagery not downloading images, but using a random album cover, is solved. Thanks! There's just one little and very weired bug with some of the album artist imagery (all downloaded): 4 out of ~100 are not fully displayed. They're like cut horizontally at a random height and the part below is just black ^^. Example: "Pendulum" shows only like a row of 10 pixels height. "Rise Against" shows only like 30% of the image.
Edit: this is not a problem with the album artist tab. These few images look the same in the artist tab.
FYI I remember such issues when embedding album cover images with the tool mp3tag in some mp3 files. Probably some ID3 headers were corrupted or so. But in this case now, the (album) artist imagery is downloaded from gmmp (and probably not stored in the files). Or may it be that both gmmp and the tool mp3tag rely on an internet service for such artist images that sends corrupted files sometimes?
