Happy Holidays my friend... Just updated my Nvidia Shield to version 8.2 and noticed the movies no longer worked. I uninstalled QuasiTV and reinstalled thinking that would fix it; but it still didn't work. While scanning, it stops at musicals (tried with many different movie folders with the same result). TV shows run flawlessly. Thanks

movies and tv are no different playback wise so its most likely something else. i'll check on my shield tomorrow.. but regardless if its something a shield update broke, im not able to fix that. playback is handled by exoplayer which uses the devices capabilities

yea just confirmed no issues on my shield with movies. something else must have changed for you. what exactly is happening when you try to play a movie? what format are they?

I am having issues during the setup channel creation process. When TV shows and movies are scanning; it always stops on movies either on Sports or Romance and will not finishing scanning. (It will hang up for example at 80% and will not continue scanning). In addition to the Nvidia Shield update; I also updated Plex to the latest version (PlexMediaServer-1.21.0.3616-d87012962-x86_64), This might be the issue. I factory reset one of my Shields hoping this would clear up the issue but it didn't resolve the problem. All three of my Shields are doing the same thing. My formats for movies and TV shows are mkv and mp4 and audio is AAC. Movies worked prior to these two updates (Shield and Plex updates).

so the issue is with syncing the movie libraries and not actually playing them back? i'll have to update my plex server and test against the latest but it could be a change they made in the update or something specific with one of your files. i do know in my local build i fixed an issue with the scheduler where it would get stuck if there was a channel created with no actual content.. it would just try to schedule it indefinitely.. i fixed it but that doesnt sound exactly like the issue you describe. The setup screen usually will say if its syncing or scheduling so that may help narrow down where its failing

I updated QuasiTV to version 0.11 and updated Plex to version PlexMediaServer-1.21.0.3711-b509cc236-x86_64. Movies are now syncing without error, but movie channels are not created, recognized or viewable (TV Shows still work). I have tried many different blocks of movies from multiple folder packs; none of them are viewable and were previously, before as I mentioned prior to updating Nvidia Shield to version 8.2. I am not sure what had changed. Have you had a chance to check this with your Shields? Thanks.
* Update * I created a movie channel and selected a few of my movies and was able to view movies this way; but not while syncing (scanning) my movie folders as mentioned above.
* Update 2 *
Just refreshed and tried movies once again; movies are now scanning in and are working, thank you. You must have just did something to make it work again?

only thing i changed was adding some error handling to prevent it from staying locked on the scanning screen. without logs i cant tell why it was failing. most likely a single movie had issues
