Hello, a while back gonemad 3.0 beta got an update which introduced artist art. Personally I don't use artist art in my music collection, only album art. The problem I have is that when you disable "auto download artwork" gonemad uses the album art as the artist art by default and the only way to set it back to no artist art is to set it manually for every artist. The reason any of this is an issue in the first place for me is because I use album view a lot. Here I will link two pictures to illustrate my point. i.imgur.com/VFo6TnA.jpg i.imgur.com/s9DKu99.jpg One has artist art automatically set to the first album by gonemad and the other has no artist art. It's a lot nicer to be able to see more albums in the grid view rather than a large redundant image taking up half of the screen. So my request would be to have an option in gonemad to stop it from automatically setting artist art as the first album art if it can not find any artist art to use. Sorry if this is already a planned feature.

Its still a beta edit: is your issue with the artist art that is takes up so much of the display when launched? If an artist's view would open up more "condensed", where you could expand it down for the full image.. would that be fine? I am pretty sure i had the intention of something like that already

Ah sorry about that, will do. Yes but for people who don't collect artist art it would be nice to have an option to hide it entirely as by default gonemad selects the first album cover of the artist to display there and if you use grid view it's just a waste of space.
That sounds like a good idea because even if you do collect artist art half of the display is a little too much to take up by default IMO, having it be the same size as the album covers in grid view by default could be better and then it could be expandable if you swipe down as you said.

okay cool.. yea if you take a look at my original beta post on my blog i talk about how the beta was going to work.. cleaning up the ui and things like you mention falls into the second phase. First phase of the beta is basically to get all the customizations in gonemadmusicplayer.blogspot.com/2020/01/gonemad-music-player-30-beta-1.html
