Hi,
In the app, I would like to be able to view my albums sorted by "date added".
By this I mean the date created/added/modified information visible on my PC in Windows Explorer and MusicBee, not the date that the files were scanned into GMMP.
Is this possible? If so, please could someone tell me how?
I have searched the forum for previous posts on this topic but have not found a solution.
The only workaround I found was to manually add my whole library into GMMP bit by bit. This worked for a while, but when I added some more music recently, the whole order reset.
I am using GMMP 2.2.21 full version on an LG G6.
Thanks

gmmp 3.0 alpha uses the date associated with the file instead of the time it was scanned in the database. I believe there is a date added sort option for albums as well

I have now tried the date added sort option for albums, using both GMMP 3 alpha 17 and 19. I am trying to have my albums in GMMP sorted in the same way as they are in MusicBee.
Am I correct in thinking that: - sorting by "date added" in GMMP in fact uses the "date modified" tag? - the "date added" displayed in MusicBee is part of the MusicBee internal database and not a tag stored within the files?
Question: is there a way to sort my albums in GMMP using the "date added" information displayed in MusicBee?
Thank you

post gmmp 3 feedback in the stickied feedback thread. 2 and 3 are completely different codebases and most other post on here are for 2.x or earlier To answer your question.. the android file system api only has access to lastmodified developer.android.com/reference/java/io/File.html#lastModified() (notice there is no creationDate()) When scanned in the database it will use lastmodified of the file as the "date added", and any changes after that will update the last modified date in the database
