I wanted to make a post to address this issue so it can be found in a google search.
If playback sounds like its in a slow motion and you are running ICS or newer, go to preferences -> audio -> enable opensl and uncheck it. This should fix the issue.
Certain devices like the galaxy s2 and galaxy note will play back mono mp3s at half the rate so it sounds very slow. It seems to be a bug in the ICS update for those devices and im currently looking into a solution. The workaround mentioned above should work fine tho.
If any other devices suffer this issue please make a post letting me know. I am hoping it is just specific to the s2 and note since they use the same audio chip in them (a yamaha DAC)

Hi,
I downloaded the Gonemad player trial app and am really liking it. I seem to have one problem though, and it seems to be the opposite problem of slow playback. My problem is that, for one of my audiobooks, playback is extremely fast, to the point that I can't decipher what's being read. It is a narrated bible, mono aac file, 64 kpbs bit rate (not sure what info is relevant; let me know if you need other info about the file).
I tried the "preferences -> audio -> enable opensl and uncheck it" route, and restarted my phone, but that did not fix it.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, running Jelly Bean.
Any ideas? Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

Could you email the file to gonemadsoftware@gmail.com
Its falsely being detected as needing the slow playback fix.. so it plays back 2x the speed
are you updated to 1.3.11?
