I have been using shuffle mode to shuffle my queue and have it set to not repeat songs in the queue until it goes through all the songs. However, this only applies per session. This is just speculation on my part. I have the music service set to time out after 5 min and it seems that this causes shuffle to reset what it knows was already played. It does not repeat songs until after I had not played any music for a while.
This issue is very noticeable as the shuffle function seems to function poorly. It keeps repeating the same few songs each time I start listening to music, which causes me to have to skip to get to a new song or a song I want, which causes the other issue I posted in a previous thread, which is GMMP crashes after skipping too much.
I used to just do shuffle queue and leave it at that, but I had I had issues with GMMP turning on shuffle by itself, or by me without knowing it.

dont use the music service timeout. not all functionality is supported when its enabled. There is no reason to turn it on and its really only there to appease those who dont trust android's memory management
Your thoughts are correct tho, no repeat is only for the session. disable music service timeout

I assume a reboot would also cause it to reset?

I assume a reboot would also cause it to reset? yes. if you want things to stay persistent, turn off shuffle and just use the randomize option in the queue. You will not repeat and the queue will stay in the same order until you change it
