I'm in the process of converting my old Samsung Galaxy S Captivate phone into a full time media player, and for the most part I'm absolutely loving GMMP. The UI, controls, and even sound are so much better than Apollo, or any other I've tried.
I'm near the end of my two week trial, and will be buying it in the next couple days.
That said, I was hoping to get an answer to one problem that has been occasionally popping up.
Every so often, after entering a command via bluetooth, GMMP will freeze up and not accept further commands (through bluetooth or the touchscreen, it doesn't matter). This seems mostly to happen if I enter a couple commands in fairly rapid succession, like Skip->Pause with only a second or so in between.
Generally to recover from this, I either need to reboot the phone, or turn off the bluetooth device (at which point GMMP seems to recognize that there is no longer a connection, and continues on its merry way). I can turn the bluetooth device on again after, and it works normally.
Is this a known thing? A bluetooth issue? Something I can help diagnose?
I'm running the latest GMMP on CyanogenMod 10.1.2 (Android 4.2.2), on a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate (i-897)
----
On a side note, I'm currently playing around with settings trying to remove all skipping (this is one of those devices where Highest decoding priority makes it worse), and was wondering if there was somewhere where people had posted their successful configurations?

you could maybe get a logcat of when the issue happens and email it to me at gonemadsoftware@gmail.com
You also could try reinstalling the app.. updates tend to mess things up for whatever reason.. even tho the code is solid.. a reinstall typically fixes things
i odnt know how stable cm 10.1.2 is for the galaxy s.. but i have an epic 4g and never had issues with it.. but i only ever ran cm10 on it

Reinstalling now, though I believe it happened before any updates had been installed too, just to be safe.
I have installed CatLog and will send a Logcat when/if it happens again.
Thanks.

After playing around and trying other players as well, I determined that it wasn't GMMP that was freezing, but something to do with the bluetooth radio itself, and it was freezing regardless of player. I downgraded from CM 10 to CM 9 (ICS) and had the same problem. It seems to have disappeared by downgrading to CM 7.2 (Gingerbread, which is the last official version for the Captivate as well). Perhaps it uses the original bluetooth software the captivate came with? Not sure.
Anyways, it seems to be solved, but I hate when forum threads just end without posting their resolution, so I came back to record it.

thanks for the update. newer CM builds for phones that are stuck in the gingerbread error can random issues.. mainly due to the lack of updated drivers
