Would be so cool if gmmp had an option to keep the android music service alive in the background at all times.
I use gmmp exclusively on my phone in the car and stream music via bluetooth to my car stereo. I often have navigation running as well.
When gmmp is running in the background with navigation, the navigation voice instructions play beautifully. However, if there is no music playing or gmmp is not running, the first few syllables of any bluetooth navigation instructions are cut off because the music service is not already running and must restart before each voice insturction, causing a delay and cutting off the beginning of the instructions.
If there was an option in gmmp to keep the music service running in the background, navigation instructions (or any TTS voices) would play without delay.
I realize this isn't really a gmmp feature request, but more of a utility, but it would be a cool one. I can't find any program or utility that is capable of keeping the music service active (even searching XDA).
I know this takes more power, but my phone is always plugged in, so it's not a big deal.
When not listening to music, I've considered using gmmp to endlessly loop a small sound clip which contains nothing but silence which would force the music service to stay active.
I'm probably asking for a very niche request, but I've seen posts in various forums of people complaining that TTS instructions via bluetooth get cut off at the beginning.
If not an option for gmmp, can I commision you to write such a utility?
Thanks again for a great music player and awesome support!
