GMMP just got much better in 1.4.9! Thanks for the super new features. ;D I find the dark gray font color used for the smaller sub-texts in the various views extremely hard to read, even on a plain black background, and especially when I am using the player in the car (as the device is further from one's eyes and the sunlight creates lots of glare). It's sometimes harder to read on some of the default backgrounds, even with a low opacity. By sub-texts I am referring to the following: - No. of folders and files (for a folder) in the File Browser view
- File size and format (for a file) in the File Browser view
- No. of album and tracks in the Artists view
- ... and so on in the remaining views
This is consistent across all the skins available for GMMP. Perhaps a much lighter shade of gray could be used or you could allow the user to choose between the current dark gray font color (default setting) or white. In addition (I wasn't sure if to open a new request thread for this, but it is kind of related), in the Queue view the color of the font for the tracks that are located above and below the currently playing track, is also extremely difficult to read (it's the same gray used for the small subtexts I described above). I completely understand the need to make the currently playing track to stand out, but perhaps a different visual effect could be added so that all the tracks are the same color. Currently in the Queue view, only one track is displayed in white while everything else is displayed in dark gray, meaning 99% of that screen is very hard to read. Thank you. -Viper21

i'll see what i can do. I've never seen an issue on any of my test devices but i guess it could be hard to read in the sun with low brightness

Much appreciated. In general, the gray text on any darkish background is a problematic contrast, with or without sun glare. Especially in the Queue view I find myself boring my eyes into the screen to read the text clearly (I had checked my eyes checked not long ago and I don't need glasses ).

I do, with ~30-70 opacity setting. I have been playing around with settings in this range to find the optimal one.

Sorry for resurfacing this thread. ;D I know a major UI overhaul is expected in the future, but I find this issue really one of my only "peeves" of GMMP. Is there anyway you could be convinced to address this issue in the interim until the UI overhaul surfaces? Just to recap: (1) Queue view: Display all tracks besides the one being played in white text (or customizable by the user). The currently playing track could be some other color (yellow? or customizable by user). Or even switch the colors around with currently playing track in gray and the remaining in white? (2) Display all small text in the various views in white or a color customizable by the user. Thanks, -Viper21
