One thing that I really loved in my Zune was the 'Show Current Playlist' feature. From the Now Playing screen I could see the actual order of songs that would play. What I mean is that if I shuffle all songs from an artist or playlist, the Current Playlist would show the order they will be played in rather than the track/library order

the queue does show the actual playlist. Shuffle collection does not actually create a playlist.. the files are picked on the fly
However, if you long press an artist, album, genre, folder and select shuffle, it will pick a random song from the selection and start playing. The rest of the songs will be added to the queue in a random order... which seems to be what you are asking for

A 'shuffled playlist' is what I was asking for. Since the player chooses the songs on the fly, I guess that wouldn't work. What my other device would do is essentially make that 'shuffled playlist'. If I turned off shuffle, the playlist (Queue for GoneMAD) would return to the original order. Not essential, but really nice if you have it. (One of the things that kept me loyal to Zune while it still existed)

use the "shuffle" context menu option.. it will generate a shuffle playlist based off what you select and put it in the queue
