Hi, I have the same problem like some others here. After adding a single song to an existing album makes it split. Is there still no solution?
In my library is an album called 'Oldies' with various artists. The files are tagged this way: artist, track, year, albumartist = 'Various', album = 'Oldies' (ID3v2.3 only, using Mp3tag). No other tags.
But everytime after adding a song the album splits
The only way to get the song into the existing 'Oldies' album is to delete the database and run a whole new scan of the files. Is this really the only way to go?
As I have around 20.000 tracks in the library this always takes quite a time.
The screenshots show the tagging of the added and the existing tracks.
Isn't there any better idea?
Thanks Guenter

gonemadmusicplayer.blogspot.com/p/dealing-with-split-albums.html?m=1edit: sorry I didn't see you already posted the link The last part of it is relevant to your situation tho If the album files are in different folders or you adding extra files to an existing album: Make sure Advanced Scanner Settings - MultiFolder Albums is turned on Make sure not only the albumartist and album tags are identical, also make sure the year tag is identical. All 3 are used by the scanner to group albums in multiple folders. If all those settings are correct then your tags do no match. GMMP searches the database using albumartist, album, and year. If your music does not have album artists tags that is also likely part of the issue. If you want to determine the exact tags present in the files using GMMP you need to use the "song info" feature and not open the tag editor. The tag editor will fill in the albumartist with the artist if the tag is not present. The song info UI will show straight from the tags
