Recently I've been making playlists in Gonemad, filling them with songs and that has worked fine. Except that I can't find the file stored on my device. I can find some of my older playlists stored as .m3u files in folders on my phone and on my SD card, but none of my newer playlists. I've searched my whole device, and nothing. The playlists still appear and function properly in the app.
Why does this matter if they work in the app? because one of my vehicles is older and the radio is an aftermarket model that uses its own app to play my music, and it relies on the playlists stored on my device, or else it just plays randomly from all of the files. Very annoying.

and just for the record, all playlists are written to storage as m3u files. GMMP's database only keeps reference to the playlist file location and nothing about its contents. Those are read from file every time
