Smart playlist "not empty" criteria

Hi !
I,m new to GMMP and discover it with a great pleasure.
I used to play my music with Rocket Music Player until today, but I think I shall reconsider this while testing GMMP, as it has all I want and all is needed without becoming a "machine a gaz" as we say in French 

Perhaps I didn't well understand how Smart Playlists work, but I'm trying to do something I could do in RMP : creating a playlist where Genre is not empty. But I can't afford to do it.
When I specify a new rule with the following parameters,

• Genre
• is not
•  (I tried to leave this empty as well as entering "")

tracks with no Genre are played anyway.

Is there a way to do this ?

an empty genre in gmmp typically gets stored in the database as "Unknown", so u'd need to set the rule up to look for Unknown

I was confused by the fact that, when displaying the Tag Editor, the field [Genre] doesn't display "Unknown", but just "Genre". So I thought it was empty...
