Hello,
I'm wondering would it be possible to create a smart playlist rule which allows it to generate one track from each artist in your library? Essentially being able to create a random mix on the fly from unique artists. I understand that the different artists selection mode in auto dj is supposed to do this, but I haven't been able to get it to work as well as I would like. It seems to repeat artists quite often. If this request isn't possible is there a way to make it more effective? Thank you!

the smart playlists don't allow for setting track limits on a per rule basis, just on the overall results
the auto dj option is your best bet. I've never witnessed repeats. Auto dj works by internally creating a list of one song per artist.. and then slowly picks songs off that list until its empty. Once empty it will generate a new internal list and repeat. Keep in mind its by artist, not album artist. Many auto taggers tend to put the "featuring" artist in the artist tag.. which gmmp treats as a separate artist. Artist A, Artist A (feat b), Artist A (feat c), etc are all diff artists.. so that might be why you are getting "repeats"

The artist tag shouldn't be an issue. Unless the software is auto tagging the artist name to something else. Regardless I'm definitely seeing repeating artists unfortunately. Could it be a bug?

Okay well it seems to be working now. However, it only works if the source is my library instead of a smart playlist. That could do it.

Yeah... The description for the auto dj selection mode setting is "song selection mode when no smart playlist is selected"
